Four Dominicans have been arrested in Guadeloupe for trying to enter that country illegally with 67 kilograms (approximately 130 pounds) of cannabis.
According to French newspaper, France Antilles, the arrests were made last week near a lighthouse at Old Fort and while this was not the biggest catch made by the Saint Claude police, it was a significant haul, the paper said.
The France Antilles report said French soldiers were conducting a surveillance operation when, at about 11.00pm, they surprised the group during a landing at the Old Fort lighthouse in Saint Claude.
They said a boat dropped off the men and some bags without even docking, before returning to sea.
The four Dominicans who, according to the report, all initially gave false identities, were intercepted with their illegal cargo and placed in custody for importing narcotics and illegal entry into the country.
It said the four traffickers, aged 32 to 40 years, were expected to be tried in a criminal court in Basseterre this week.
Just another good move gone bad
brother u tired put tears in ur family eyes, big sister, mother, brother, aunty, cousins are all crying. time u ask urself question u playing too bigger boss and think u can do ppl wat u want… im sorry to hear dat anyways u choose dat life
in my honest opinion, i really don’t blame them completely … even as a teen, i’m quite aware of what is going on in our economy … we constantly speak on the issue of unemployment and i have witnessed first hand how brutally frustrating is is to be unemployed in our somewhat underdeveloped economy … in hindsight there was a lot that could have been done in the past to provide for the present but opportunities were ignored and consequently i guess, we have 2 major options … working in some office (education required) or slaving away to shrivelling crops beneath the hot sun (manual labour required) … i guess they saw no other option for themselves
-Shrug-
not fast life they want nu!!! allu will go n work doee
givin we dat workin so hard in guada bad name; shame on u all
at least is not coke like the model in L:ondon, so why jail them for life, we all must realize that the suppression of the cannabis is like slavery whiv=ch will be abolished one day
Let ye without sin cast the first stone. Keep all u negative comments to u lot selves. Them people get caught, that don’t concern u lot. Just remember some of u lot have family too, and u never know what tomorrow will bring. Stop hating, what happen all u jealous the ganja man them.
Mind all u business.
Jail them for life……No sympathy for drug dealers. But Change Must Come!
Assertive,NOT Agressive!
These are legitimate points, not negative comments. These fools had no right or authority to try and smuggle anything into someone’s back yard. These guys did not have permission to enter the country in the first place. I agree that they have a right to use what ever substance they choose to, but once you intrude into someone’s yard with your none sense, you have to bear the consequences and pay the penalties when caught.
Oh please dry up , they got caught smuggling , if they were my family I would treat them the same way they broke the law snd deserve to be punished
Listen here. I have an 18 year old son and I did not raise him to be anything other than an upright citizen. If he ever is as foolish as that to go dealing drugs, I hope that they lock his arse up, let alone someone who I don’t even know. Sorry, but I have no sympathy for drug dealers.
Four down many more. Too go grate job yo arela’ gwada key ta’ yo la
What can we do as Dominicans to prevent our people from turning to drugs? Why do they go in drugs? Is it economics? Is it our standard of living? Satisfied people will not turn to a life of crime.
Nothing, except to keep spreading the message on “say no to drugs” and educate your offspring. This is not a “Dominica problem”, it’s a global issue
Alcohol is a drug too !
Many Dominicans sell drugs and still do the red clinic. Easy way out.
A vote for Linton is a vote for jobs.
This is most amusing , caught red handed.

No probs guys, YOU KNOW THAT RED CAP RUM IS WORST THAN THAT, so stay bless my brothers..
They choose dat life, god is not sleeping
They say that “you never too old to learn.” Tell that to a drug dealer. They never learn.
Please Guadeloupians, keep these our drug people in your jails – don’t send them back to us. Please! We don’t want them.
They do not learn, they WILL NOT LEARN. I hope the person that dropped them off was among the four. This is ridiculous. Keep your mess in your bedroom. Everywhere has their own mess to deal with.
“They said a boat dropped off the men and some bags without even docking, before returning to sea” The person doing the “drop off” could not possibly be one of the 4. I think these guys need to be tried and locked up for entering another country illegally, while at the same instance smuggling weed. I’m a Rastaman but I think this is insanely ridiculous! Why can’t people just use herbs for their personal use and beliefs and stop being so darn stupid and ignorant?
personal use or what a lock them till a lock u up.
Stfo
Chembay yo!!!
They will learn
They were either salt or stupid.
What happen to working hard to get what you want in life all our young people are going for these days is get rich over night. Some changes have to happen more patrols at sea to intercept them.
Boss, u think drug trafficking is an easy job?? Boy u must be mad!
LOL
No easy job indeed . look the way I c it is these guys could have been doing so many other things to make money they are not interfering with these people trying to hold them down , they chose to hussle n make it, it could be robbing but they chose selling .
then u all got to be the biggest idiots…..if it is hard just like legal work why not just do that and stay out of jail? smh
lol
Well Sar! It just doesn’t stop!
Stupid is, what stupid does!
How come all you not saying is the Labour Gov that cause that
bondiay DNO hold my tongue and my fingers…for dat teheh dere plz
*tebeh (dotish)
Why are these guys not learning from previous busting of Dominicans? Don’t they understand that every country is now on the look out for Dominican drug traffickers? Can someone please pass on the message, ‘souplais’! Les Dominichens, ca qui pas ka tan yo que comprendre!
Who says we don’t export! These are our invisible earnings that don’t show up in our GDP.
Just this week skerrit give a great independent message highlighting where we come out where we going then this
slap in the face it is like our leaders out of touch with reality.
If your father has (4) four sons, educated them all, one turn to drugs/crimes, would you blame your father?…we should not blame country for the wrong doing of a few…
Well sah! It just doesn’t stop!
