PM Skerrit addressing a Dominica Citizenship Conference in the UAE recently

Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has told Dominicans living in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who have received their citizenship through the Citizenship by Investment Program, that they have all the rights and privileges of any Dominican living on the island or in the diaspora.

The Prime Minister visited Dubai and Sharjah recently and emphasized that all citizens of Dominica are equal in the sight of the Constitution of the country and there are no two classes of citizens.

“I wish to make clear, this morning, that you are 100 percent Dominican and that you have all the rights and privileges of any other Dominican, resident on Dominica or elsewhere in the Diaspora,” a press release from Caribbean Trust, an immigration and naturalization service in Dubai, quoted him as saying at a ‘Dominica Citizenship Conference.’

The Prime Minister welcomed the ongoing interest and investments of Dominicans living in the United Arab Emirates in the economic development of the Caribbean island.

The press release said that the Prime Minister noted the government in Dominica is very appreciative of the generosity and ongoing interest of citizens of Dominica, who had acquired that status through the Citizenship By Investment Program, promoted in the UAE by the company CTrustGlobal, Caribbean Trust Immigration Services led by CEO Dr. Aly El Dakroury and Mrs. Nivin Ali.

“I am always very pleased and encouraged when Dr Aly El Dakroury report to me on the enormous desire of our citizens living in Dubai to invest in and play a greater role in the social and economic development of their country,” he said. “Therefore, I urge you today to pursue with pride and determination, your investments in the island. Your contributions to date have assisted with the revitalization and maintenance of our infrastructure, especially since the passage of Tropical Storm Erika, in August last year.”

He added, “The Citizenship By Investment Program has been invaluable in its contribution to the social upkeep of the country. The proceeds from the services offered by promoters such as CTrustGlobal, have been used to sustain our National Employment Program, for example, where we introduce hundreds of young men and women, living on the island, to the wonderful world of work. Funds generated also go to the upkeep of healthcare, public education and the nurturing of our vital agricultural sector.”

The Prime Minister assured citizens, in Dubai, Sharjah and elsewhere in the UAE, that the Government of Commonwealth of Dominica is working feverishly to conclude plans for the creation of a diplomatic presence on Dubai, according to the release.

“Mrs. Nivin Ali and her husband Dr. Aly El Dakroury have been outstanding citizens of Dominica and very prolific producers in the Citizenship By Investment Program offered by their company, CTrustGlobal. We are very appreciative of their efforts. I would like for other promoters in the UAE to follow their very professional approach to the marketing of the Program, so that it remains the premier citizenship program in this region,” Skerrit said.

The release said Skerrit also spoke about the island’s strict due diligence in its Citizenship by Investment Program.

“This due diligence means a lot to us as a country. We do not focus merely on quantity. We wish to ensure that the quality of our program is observed and respected by friendly nations around the world. That is why I urge Promoters here in UAE to fly the Dominica flag with pride. Let prospective citizens and investors know how proud we are of our status in the program and how we look forward to their continued interest and involvement, not only on the island of Dominica but in the wider Caribbean region as well,” the Prime Minister said.

The release noted that during his recent visit to Dubai, Prime Minister Skerrit presided at the launch of the new Silver Beach Resort project which will start on Dominica later this year. He also toured several projects owned and operated by nationals of Dominica living in the UAE.

Dominica Passports for Sale to UAE – IN THAT COUNTRY CHILD SEX IS PERMITTED AND FREELY LEGAL.

All Dominican citizens there have to do to have sex with kids at any age is to marry them (no minimum age for marriage) and then the kids can get full loads with both barrels.

That’s the kind of sicko government we have in place folks!!!

I am really surprised reading all the comments where many of you do pre-judge that the investors in citizenship are criminals.. Believe me there are many stronger passports in the world that you can acquire and get you to USA and Canada also by investment. To name some, Hungary, Portogal, Malta, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Antigua.. and by the way, if Dominica stops the program, be sure your CC neighbor countries will be not be sad, less competition in this business. I agree though that such country earnings from the program should be invested in strategic development projects that helps the economy..! I am not sure if your problem is with the program itself or the ones who are running the program..! In other words, with concept or the execution?

Sure, sell our passports to countries, like the UAE and most of the Arabic states, where sex with kids (from the time they are born, more or less) is fully legal. Think of the headlines! “Dominican citizen in the UAE proudly marries his lover of 5 years old!!”.. how does that sound to you? Sickening??? I guess.

There are things in life more valuable than money my friend, explain this to your mates in our government who have already sold their souls to the devil himself for cash.

Dominicans, take note of what this means. It means that all these people can vote. It means that Dominican living in Dominica may not be able to determine their leadership ever again. In theory, especially since we have no idea just how many citizens are out there, those people could keep the current administration in power indefinitely. It’s an ingenious plan for the PM. Money from the passports, plus a guaranteed voting block.

Note how bias and unfair you supporters are. The rest of the world, especially knows this. You need to be reminded of these things.
God is good! Patience! Someday, He will put an end to your bias attitude.

We demand an immediate halt to the citizenship by investment programme.

All international agents and/or sellers must forthwith cease and desist from the merchandizing of Dominica’s patrimony.

A full investigation has been launched and a full accounting of all monies received must be provided to the people.

All those who know, or should have known of any unethical or illicit behavior by persons of trust are expected to do their duty and furnish such information to the appropriate authorities.

Any and all persons found to have abused, violated or otherwise illegally enriched themselves from such sale of passports will be held liable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

    Please be advised.

Was it deliberate or an oversight by the Prime Minister failing to remind to us that whereas all citizens of Dominica under the Citizen by Investment Program are equal and have the same privileges as any other Dominican, they also have the right to vote whether they reside in Dubia, Syria, India, a supporter of Isis, Russia, Malaysia, Arabia, Iran and Macou, even though they don’t even know where the Island of Dominica is located. We must remind ourselves that with all those hotels that are being built, it is possible for these so called Dominicans to come down to Dominica at election time and secure that his party returns to Government. You noticed, I did not mention the United States, England and France , because not much is said about the selling of Citizenship by Investment in those Countries. It would appear, the doctor favors selling citizenship to crooks, terrorists, vagabonds and criminals.

Roosevelt, you need to shut your babbling mouth, you make no sense!

You do not have an economic citizenship, by investment program in Dominica. What you are involved into is the sale of Dominica passports, and citizenship to the highest bidder. How many of those unsavory so called Dominicans in Dubai knows the geographic location of Dominica?

How many of those who bought Dominica passports, and so called investment citizenship has any investment in Dominica; or ever set foot in the country.

Where the due diligence is coming from, if I was given 200 passports to sell, I would like to see how many dollars I will beable to make for myself for my cot ,likewise all the other passport sellers, they too would like to make their fortune. Now explain to me where the due diligence is coming from. If they also feel they have a valid case, they can sue those who discriminate against them.
If they do not have money for lawyer’s fees, they can apply to the appropriate government department for free lawyer’s counseling and defense.
I am certain you know D/can nationals who reside in those countries.
There are D/cans who migrated to those countries, some of whom never worked or paid taxes but who receive financial help from the government. When they become senior citizens, they receive old age security and other assistance. In Canada, they get free Medicare. Some of them, whether they are employed or not, send money to their family in Dominica.
Some of these, if not all of them visit D/ca with the money they receive from the government.
If you did not know that, you now know. Do you note how unfair you are? It is also a reminder to be careful of what you state.
Dominica has somehow benefited from this citizenship by investment. Be grateful!

I hope you take good note of this.
Do not be selfish and critical. Some of you comment without first thinking. All countries now have numerous immigrants and also refugees with more to come. These appear to outnumber the real nationals who themselves feel they are strangers in their country.
Furthermore, those migrants/refugees did not have to invest to migrate there. Some are non-contributors and are dependent on the government for financial assistance and other assistance; some, until they die. Their beneficiary also receive a few thousand dollars from the government to bury them.
Those who do not contribute to the economy are burdens on taxpayers, the government of those countries as Europe, Canada and the US of all. In those countries, all are considered equal. They have rights and do not feel as outsiders.
There are laws to protect them from discrimination. If they feel they are discriminated against, they can lodge a complaint.

PM Skeritt said, and I quote: “I wish to make clear, this morning, that you are 100 percent Dominican and that you have all the rights and privileges of any other Dominican, resident on Dominica or elsewhere in the Diaspora,” That means, these oil rich folks come in and buy up all the land, and we won’t have anything left for our posterity. Now that’s equality for you.

“…there are no two classes of citizens” the man said…does RED and BLUE ring a bell. There are also the ones who give a damn bout the constitution and the rest, well, you already know. This country is officially dead!

    • Francisco Etienne-Dods Telemaque
      March 3, 2016

In the event some oil rich people would come in and buy land, and build homes, and develop industrial manufacturing industries, that would be a good thing, and a plus for the country; for that is what economic citizenship by investment is intended to do.

Unfortunately what we have in Dominica is simply the sale of passports to criminals mostly; who has absolutely no intentions to ever set foot in Dominica!

This concern about posterity, has been a set back for all of our nations history, we use that nonsense that the land in Dominica belongs to future generation, never stop to think the living generation are not doing anything with the land we possess!

Foreigners do help to build nations, we saw a different United Kingdom due to the vast immigration into England, the same apply’s to the United States! Let them come to Dominica, if the do the nation will be much better off.

St. Kitts now boast an International Airport; the idea of building an International Airport in St. Kitts is the brain child of the late Paul Southwell, Dominica born in the village of Castle Bruce, while serving as Premier of St. Kitts, Nevis and Angullia in the 1960’s

Don’t you know that the Antigua Labor Party was formed by a Dominica country boy the late Levi Joseph form the village of Thibaud along with the late V. C. Bird Sr?

One of the reasons Dominica is so backward, primitive, and poor is due to our greed for land, and preventing foreigners from settling in the country, review all the developed and prosperous islands in the Caribbean, you will find a large majority of foreigners residing on those islands!

Have find out about religious status of the people of Dubai ? They are all Muslims who believe in their antichrist named Allah . These people do not believe in the God we serve , They do not believe Jesus is the son of God . They believe in Allah . Allah is an antichrist , so what they are doing is to gain citizenship so they can build their mosque , a place where they worship and hide all their weapons. In the very near future they will take over the Government because they will place a high demand in return for the money and assistance they give now . When the Government cannot meet their demands , the only alternative is to take over Dominica , passed laws for all Dominicans to become Muslims and when they refuse they will behead every one . “The press release said that the Prime Minister noted the government in Dominica is very appreciative of the generosity and ongoing interest of citizens of Dominica, who had acquired that status ”
Dat man sick….they buy our birthright name and you call that appreciative. YOu are not gonna see them in Dominica, you already waste states funds and travel far, so what they pay for passports is not investment, it covers your numerous questionable airfares and pocket money.

He lied about people as you who do not appreciate anything.
He did people as you a favor by not exposing your indifferent attitude and hateful ones.

Hmmm, sounds familiar. The recurring factor. More useless overseas trips, more deals signed, no positive results yielded. You don’t treat all Dominicans equally so don’t act like it. Only the red ones stand a chance in Dominica while the rest of us are at risk of high blood pressure as a result of sucking too much salt. Skeritt needs to quit. Stop managing our country as if it is a shop.

All Dominicans are equal BUT some are more equal than others

Not true!! Some are more equal than others, in particular if you are a supporter of the DLP regime.

That is all well and good as long as some ISIS and Taliban terrorist do not get citizenship by investment then move to Dominica to set up operations.

This would be good for you; a punishment for your ingratitude.
God rewards the good and punishes the wicked.
One day some of you will pay for your words.

I’m so glad that I was fortunate enough and blessed, to have lived in Dominica when it was sweet. It always had crooked politicians in my time and before – But nothing in comparison to what we are now witnessing. And the most difficult thing for me to understand, is why the majority of our Island are so doggone blind! People are revolting against the government in the wrong by harming each other – This only serves to strengthens the hand of this corrupt and dirty regime. I’m long to see a change. “HOW LONG? NOT LONG.”
