Member of Parliament for Roseau North, Danny Lugay was escorted out of Parliament on Monday morning.
The House had convened for the election of a President.
The matter appears to have its roots in comments made by Attorney General Levi Peter while he was addressing parliament.
It appears he was responding to comments made by Lugay, which were not heard during the proceedings.
“Madam speaker, listen to the Member from Roseau North, talking about people who are not qualified,” Peter said, referring to Lugay. “I was going to use a word Madam Speaker that is appropriate for people who beg for food, it begins with B, Madam Speaker, and it ends with M but I will not use it Madam Speaker because it is not parliamentary.”
This did not go down well with Lugay.
“Did you hear him? Did you hear him?” he could be heard shouting in the background.
“The member for Roseau North, will you keep quiet, will you please keep quiet?” House Speaker, Alix Boyd-Knights said.
Lugay could be heard saying Peter was out of order because of his comment.
“You have to behave yourself, you have no behavior,” the House Speaker said. “I will decide who is out of order and I am declaring you so, please contain yourself, go have a drink of water or something.”
But Lugay did not keep quiet and he was eventually escorted out of the House.

Only a depraved, morally repugnant Minister of Government will refer to a fellow parliamentarian as a BUM in the House. Is this the kind of message and behavior we wish for our young , impressionable children to emulate? The sad thing is not a word of rebuke from the Speaker. Does anyone think that if the same remark was made by an opposition member of parliament, it would have gone unnoticed by the said Speaker? The Speaker is driven by partisan calculation and has reduced the parliament to an arena of conflict and a fortress of wrongdoing. This grossly incompetent lady is just a water carrier for the government. All of the once revered institutions in Dominica are presently malfunctioning as they have been weaponized to marginalize and destroy all critics and opponents of the current regime. Don’t be discouraged, hang on, payday is coming.

This should have been done long ago. Longtime! Lugay is one of the most malkassay, aggressive, and violent Opposition politicians. Those who know him, will know this to be true.
The Speaker has been too lenient on Lugay; ditto for Spaggs, Fontaine (when he has shown up in Parliament), Linton, and Baptiste.
In stead of dealing with the country’s problems this is the kind of nonsense that goes on..from all sides..What was the value of Levi Peters comment.???….

The aggressive behavior of the opposition in the house is very idiotic.
Opposition members have been misbehaving from day one.
They have never informed themselves of the working and procedure of the House. One would think after 4 years in the House they would know what a point of order is. They would know the difference between a reading and a debate of a bill. They would know the difference between a supplementary estimate and a budget. They would know what a supplementary question is.The would know due respect for the chair in parliamentary meetings and the Speaker in the House. One does not have to be an expert on Erskin May to know what human respect is. There could be more but……..for now.

You see I will forever be a critic of Roosevelt Skerrit, and his pawn puppet supporters! And so, once again I suggest an uprising, a revisit of 1979 in order to get rid of people like Roosevelt and that old clown Peters out of government; in the first place an AG should not be in the parliament running off his mouth; he should be neutral.
The only way such old baggage will be out of of circulation is when a revolution come!

If Charles Savarin was the only nominee, it would be safe to say the whole matter was a kangaroo show, because they knew that Savarin was confirmed prior to the kangaroo show. I wish to see the day when another government takes power, to kick scums, puppets like Peter skating on his old butt home!

The moronic Speaker of the House allows the dishonorable Ministers to pass the most odious remarks about their opposition counterparts without one word of admonition. This is a country where the network of roads is degenerating, gov’t services unreliable, large chunks of arable land uncultivated, joblessness skyrocketing, vagrancy proliferating and hopelessness pervades the entire society. DNO is unfair in their reporting. They stated that the root of the matter started with the attorney general statement about someone who begs for food. but we were all watching and the the attorney’s general remark was in response to that badly behaved lugay interrupting him by saying he is unqualified … School children behavior.

Children have tantrums! Men can and should reason. Debate yes but in a human form not like animals.
Let my comment roll. No politics just facts. Don’t mix matters. The issue here is the behaviour of the parliamentarian. Observe Listen, take note and then comment later. Too many outbursts from persons who supposedly should know better. Do unto others as you would like them do unto you. Let the person make their contribution. Then later you will make your point. This is the ideal situation. Do not speak whilst someone is contributing. You listen attentively, make your notes and then you can speak, object etc.
Can you interject in Court?? No the Judge or magistrate can charge you for such behaviour. You can only speak when you ask permission and be given the ok to go ahead.

People high time you should look objectively at the situation and the act at the time. You do not have to like the speaker, the President, the Prime Minister, the labour party but discipline is discipline. Wrong is wrong. Procedures are procedures. Order is order. So please be objective at this time and leave out your political preferences at this time. That is your choice!

The embarrassment comes from a leader of a political party who goes about spreading negative tales, be it true or not about the country that he claims to want to lead! Further embarrassment comes from the other members of the party AND the followers who encourage that behavior.
