Local radio station, KAIRI FM, has teamed up with Big Edge Financial Express to bring early Christmas cheer to residents of the Grotto Home.

Every year, KAIRI FM, joins with corporate partners to make donations to charitable institutions around the island. This year, the radio station decided to do something different from their usual supermarket sweep, which has been a signature event for the institution. On Monday, KAIRI FM held a thirty-minute live broadcast at the Grotto, where a cheque presentation was made.

Sales & Marketing Manager at KAIRI FM, Alice Dalrymple, says ‘this gesture is in keeping with the company’s corporate responsibility to spread love to the less fortunate on the island.’

Director of Big Edge Financial, Mr. Billy Doctrove presented a two thousand dollar ($2000.00) cheque to the Grotto, to assist in caring for residents at the home. Mr. Doctrove pledged his company’s commitment to assisting the Grotto as they prepare to move to their new location next year.

Director of the Grotto Home, Mrs Lucia Blaize Jones, thanked the companies for their gift and called on other corporate companies to do likewise. She said that the Grotto continues to maintain a good relationship with both companies, and the residents look forward to welcoming KAIRI FM and their partners every year.

During the ceremony on Monday, Bishop Alice Jacob took the opportunity to pray with the residents and encouraged them to remain in God’s hands with a message entitled ‘The Hand of God’.

One should not let the public know when a charitable gift is given. If it is from the heart no one should know . The press should not be informed to come and take pictures. Please do not let your left hand know what you right hand is given. Protect the dignity of the poor.
