PM bats for religious freedom, care for the less fortunate

Prime minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, has called on Dominicans to protect and cherish religious expression on the island since there are many parts of the world where such freedom does not exist.

He stated that at the same time, all Dominicans have the responsibility to assist the less fortunate in society, noting that it should not be left to the government alone.

Skerrit was speaking at the Penville Roman Catholic Church on Sunday to commemorate the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is also the parish feast.

“We are celebrating at a time when many parts of the world is in turmoil,” the prime minister said. “We have in Iraq a group called ISIS that is pursuing Christians, pursuing Christians with a view of exterminating them from the face of the earth, but here in Dominica we have absolute religious freedom and we do not need any form of protection to worship in our country.”

He noted that this is something that must be protected.

“I think that is something we have to guard, is something we have to cherish and is something all of us must continue to aspire for because there are many parts of the world where people do not have that level of freedom,” he stated.

The prime minister pointed to the Pope’s visit to South Korea where many were killed because of their Christian faith.

“The Holy Father is visiting South Korea and those of you who has been following this will understand the history of the church in South Korea,” Skerrit said. “Over 120,000 people were killed because they proclaimed to be Christians, because they proclaim to be Catholics. So, I think we all have to recognize that we must continue to play our part in promoting the peace in our country and of course the wider world.”

The prime minister also reiterated his administration’s position on the care for the less fortunate, saying it is not a choice but a responsibility.

“But we must also pay particular attention to the scripture reading which made reference to the fact that we have to look after the less fortunate in our society,” he stated. “This is not a choice but a responsibility which we have to care for the elderly and the less fortunate among us and that is why I have led a government that has placed the less fortunate as the center of our programs, to ensure that those among us that are not able take care of ourselves, we can do so.”

However, he said, it should not be left to the government alone.

“It is not only the responsibility of the government, it is the responsibility of each one of us,” Skerrit remarked. “If you have too much, you need to share it with your neighbour who doesn’t have anything. If a child next door doesn’t have a pair of shoes to go to school, it should be our responsibility of those of us who can afford, to buy that child a pair of shoes,” said the prime minister.

DNO, the PM also “spoke” on religious freedom. The word “bat” is sarcastic. It is inappropriate and insulting to the PM, to us Catholics, the Catholic Church and primarily to God.
God knows what lurks in the heart of man. You should not have used the word “bat”. We know you are not in favor of the PM, do not support him including those who support him. I have noticed that you post some words of the heading when the PM has spoken on certain matters so as to incite the readers/users who access your Website, causing them to be critical and to call the PM corrupt, etc. Those words do incite them, his non-supporters, to hatred towards the PM and his cabinet. It is not fair to them.
God knows there is a lot of favoritism and wickedness projected. When it comes to religion, please be respectful.
Yes! God is patient. He is taking note and everyone, in time, will get just what they deserve. As I always say, this is my consolation.

Innocuous, here is something for you and all those who proclaim they are unbelievers:

    Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
    There’s something about that Name;
Master, Savior Jesus, like the fragrance after the rain.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim,
Kings and kingdoms will all pass away
But there’s something about that Name.

    Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!
The mere mention of that Name can calm the storm,
Heal the broken, raise the dead.
    At the Name of Jesus,
I’ve seen sin-hardened men melted, derelicts transformed,
The light of hope put back into the eyes of a hopeless child.
    At the Name of Jesus,
Hatred and bitterness turned to love and forgiveness,
    Arguments cease.

Emperors have tried to destroy it. Philosophies have tried to stamp it out. Tyrants have tried to wash it out from the face of the earth with the very blood of those who claimed it. Yet still it stands.
And there shall be that final day when every voice that has ever uttered a sound, every voice of Adam’s race, shall raise in one great mighty chorus to proclaim The Name of Jesus.
For, in that day, every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that He is Lord.
    O Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!

Keep on batting Skerrit! It’s your wicket, you won the toss, the wicket (the pulpit) is dead, and pastors and priests that were supposed to be Umpires have joined your corrupt team. So just keep batting but you MUST get out!

There is no government especially overseas who would overlook you calling their PM corrupt and consistently so. You would be sued. No reputable enterprise which owns a Website would allow it. DNO appears to be different but for how long. The enterprise could very well be sued.
You have to be careful what you state. One day you and others who call the PM corrupt will pay for your words of hatred and boldness.

“The Facts”, so far you have posted 14 blog responses to this one article. Not once do you come with an original observation or opinion but always being reactive. Are you not capable of original thought? So sad!

    • The Facts

JoJo, you are observant. Since you asked,, do not misjudge me. I had reasons for doing that. I read the comments and if I feel like commenting, that it is necessary for me to do so, I do. I was saving my original thought for later. I utilized my common sense and thought that was ample for me, for one night. I occasionally do that. You comprehend?
Another matter, I allow Our Lord to inspire me. I think and at another time I comment. Get the drift?
I am not as nosy (not a nosy neighor) :) and curious as you are. I never look at how many times people comment, knowing they are free to comment as many times as they so wish and it has nothing to do with me. I look at the comments and respond accordingly. Stay tuned.
It is interesting that some of what I posted before this article DNO did not moderate them. Yet, yours was moderated. What does that tell me about DNO, holding back my comments? Maybe next time ask DNO.

The message is clear. Roosevelt Skerrit is the new messiah and everybody must pay homage to him and be subservient to him,, including the churches. These are the actions of a delusional person.
I supported his appointment but I made a big mistake. The man does not even respect his own party.

  7. BISHOP SKERRIT
    August 18, 2014

But Skerro you must think before you talk you know. 1 Tim 5 makes it clear that in the mind of God the Father, not even the Church was allowed to take care of the elderly. He make it clear that it children down to nephews that should take care of their loved ones as a way of thanking them for the good they have done, which would eventually pave the way for their spiritual blessing as seen in Isaac to Jacob. If according to the apostle Paul it was wrong for the church to do it then it has to be very wrong to pass that burden on the state through corrupt politicians. But the bishop has realized that he has crippled the finances of our sons and daughters, leaving them without a feature and let alone to ask parents to take care of their parents. What a blessing we have been deprived of thanks to Bishop Skerrit! So for you to take that blessing away from children is nothing more than communism.

      • The Facts
        August 20, 2014

Innocuous, some of you like to throw words and insult some of us who comment on this Website. I am not a bitter person and I envy no one. I speak/write the truth. I do not talk crap and I do not believe in crap. I believe in God. You view our faith in God and his teachings as crap. This is the type of mentality you possess. How sad for you that you are blinded to the truth.
You must be one who has rejected God. You, worry about yourself and your immortal soul. There are already many souls in Heaven. Those in Heaven are praying for specifically the believers of God who worship him that they will not sway from God, from the truth and obtain eternal salvation. They may be praying for people as you that you may not perish eternally.
Ensure that you make it to Heaven. You will only do so if you recognize God. I already feel sorry for you if you do not make it. Eternal suffering with Satan and all his followers in his cauldron of everlasting fire is something everyone should avoid. I would not wish it on my worst enemy which you appear to be one, by your comments.
I was taught to do good. This is Christianity. As God knows, many who comment on this Website, are capable of making it to Heaven. God knows who will. It is not our business to decide who will go to Heaven or who will not. Let everyone see about their immortal soul for that day, it will be they, God, eternal judgment and eternity. Christians know this.
Ensure you make it by recognizing God, paying him homage, praying for yourself, for others and performing acts of love in Jesus Name. There is no other way to obtain eternal salvation; no short-cuts. I know enough, I have enough to write a book. God inspires.

Skerritt on Church pulpit preaching about religious freedom?
    Papa Bon Dieu !!!

What is that, nuh, these days?

God is good for Skerritt and his ilk,. All the time, God is good for Skerritt. The majority of Dominicans are catching hell. Their standards of living going down, down, down.

Freedom for whom? for those who amass massive wealth in quick time, while in Public office, by dubious means?

Has the church washed away all the corrupt practices and sins done by, we know whom, against those who express themselves for a better life?

Fear, fear, fear envelopes the land. Freedom of expression? Think again. Candle light vigil by the family of a man found dead while in police custody deemed illegal? The family should not mourn their loss with peaceful vigil?

Firebombing two innocent elder Dominicans on Christmas day, some silent? No Freedom and justice for Mano and his wife? Was the pulpit used to condemn such a horrible crime and other criminal/corrupt acts?

God rebuked cheats, thieves, liars, those who kept their people in bondage. Biblical teachings instructs, Mr. PM “Let my people go.”

The Church is not avoiding anything. You are just not paying attention and living the faith as you should. As you give advice, you need advice yourself to love, be courteous, considerate, generous and do not hate. God is taking note. In future, keep your advice to yourself. The PM or no one else need it. Do not waste your time giving it. You need it more than anyone else.

Itassi too whats wrong with same sex marriage? have you ever asked your priest why the roman catholic church paid over 500 million dollars to boys who were victimized by catholic priests in America? Don’t be a hypocrite

    • The Facts
      August 18, 2014

You are the one who is a hypocrite. What type of life do you live? Some of you live an unholy life as God knows too well and you judge others as you understand nothing.
No explanation will please you. Keep judging and not save your soul. On that day you will find out what it is like to mind the business of others, judge them and not live a holy, sacrificial life of worship, prayer and penance. In the end, you will be the fool as you appear to be at this moment by your godless comments.
They did not harm you in anyway. Therefore, leave them alone and mind your business. You are not even pleasing God by your words but condemning yourself.
God forgives. If you ever want his forgiveness, you must love, forgive and pray for those who were weak of spirit.
Our Lord said, “Prostitutes and tax collectors are entering Heaven” – before you. He also said, “The first shall be last and the last shall be first.” Go and study Holy Scriptures, and live a holy life according to it.
Do you practice the faith and are you striving for holiness that you might be fortunate to be saved? You must work for it in thoughts, words and deeds.
In addition, an attack on the Clergy in general, is an attack on God. You are so ignorant in every way that you do not know that. Learn something for a change. When some people die they will pay for their words, their mouth and tongue as you will.

Who are you anyway and whose side are you on? God or the devil, his enemy and the enemy of our souls.. When last you went to Church?
You know very little, if nothing at all. You hate hearing the truth but the truth must be told. God ordains all to be.
Leave the Catholic Church and the Clergy alone. They have done nothing wrong to you. A punishment awaits those who persecute the Catholic Church of which I am a member. I am part of the Church. All who are members of this Church make up the Church, One Body in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Christ established One Church. It is The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church. It is the Original Christian Church. It is not part of any church that was formed down through the ages. It is not inferior to any one of them who are a few years old. Some of you hate the Catholic Church. It is the devil’s work to do so and to influence people as you.
This Catholic Church will be on earth until the end of time because Our Lord Jesus Christ established it. All others will be defunct and soon enough. I have information of revelation on this matter.
People are judged by what they say and because of what you state, I know that you are an enemy of this Church.

    Mr. Prime Minister
South Korea is a Buddhist country but they are one of the strongest Democracies in Asia with protected religious freedom of choice. That is why Roman Catholicism is so strong there and the Pope Francis is able to visit… Unlike your friends in the Communist People’s Republic of China and North Korea where they prevented Roman Catholic Christians from journeying to South Korea to see Pope Francis…
So Mr Prime Minister get your facts correct or simply speak the truth for once, at least once… my God magwaysa pa fe Bon Dieu pine ou garson… We are not Penvillian Goats as the DLP would like the rest of the country and the world to believe, and I am saying that based on the rubbish about religious freedoms the Prime Minister spoke at Mass on Sunday… I challenge you, Mr Prime Minister, to tell your friends in Communist China and North Korea to stop penalizing their people for the right to choose their own religion… can you do that Mr. Prime Minister without falling out with the Communist Chines and North Koreans???

Note what is occurring in those other non-Christian countries. Did you pray for the victims? Did you also pray that these types of unrest will cease?
Your words mean nothing. They are only a shell and hollow if you criticize and you do not as much as pray for even your country and politicians. If you think D/ca is getting from bad to worst and also the criminals, it is on account of people as you who only criticize and do nothing else; not even pray.
When last you helped a poor person in D/ca and even prayed for them?
As the Mother of God, the Ever Blessed Virgin Mary stated at the Wedding at Cana, “Do as He tells you.” Some of you have yet to comprehend this meaning among other meanings of Holy Scripture as they misinterpret them and teach falsehood.

So, what do you say for other countries as also the progressive ones that the government give a monthly income to those on the welfare system? Aside from the monthly income, based on this income, a few days later the government also gives a monthly amount to those whose income is below what is considered the poverty level. In addition, to all that, they also receive a quarterly amount because of their low income. This helps to tide them over They are happy to receive the extra dollars and are grateful for it.
Will you say that those governments made their poor national beggars?
A good government recognizes that the poor is in need of an income for their livelihood. It is sad that your heart is so hard, as if made of concrete/rock/stones that you cannot see it that way as a compassionate one for the poor.
Dominicans who have no other means of livelihood are fortunate that the government assists them. If you lived some years ago or were old enough to comprehend, you should know that in bygone years the poor were not helped and by no means as they are today.
You are an unkind person making so much of this help the poor receives and to criticize the little amount that the government gives and they are happy to receive in addition to criticizing the government for assisting the poor. Your attitude is one of godlessness. Be careful God will not punish you and those who make such statements about the poor being assisted. God is taking note.
Some of you can get me angry with your lowly words and always criticizing while you do absolutely nothing for your country or to assist anyone.
What do you know? You are projecting your ignorance and narrow-mindedness. You have much to learn.
You crude and rude person who are placing a curse on yourself, make good note of what I stated and keep it in your archives for future reference.
Worry about yourself that you may be kicked out of Heaven, in fact, locked out for you have depicted that your heart consists of hatred, meanness and lack of love. There is no place in Heaven for these types of souls. You should know what Our Lord taught and what St. Paul also told us about helping the poor and on other godly matters.
You are not a happy and peaceful person. It has also been noted that you like to stir up trouble. Let your words be gracious. Be careful you do not get punished right on this earth and soon enough when you least expect it. You are surely not on the side of the poor. Pray that you never get poor and sick.

Per the Universal Declaration on Human Rights adopted by the United Nations and which member states like Dominica have pledged themselves to honour and achieve, religious freedom is fundamental. However, the right to Freedom of Expression is the cornerstone of democratic rights and freedoms in the same declaration.

According to Dear Leader, ” we have in Iraq, a group called ISIS that is pursuing Christians… with a view to exterminating them.” Should he be reminded that we have in Dominica a lawyer who has called on party supporters to “go after” certain people with differing opinions, like the US “goes after Al Queda”? And his silence on the matter is deafening? We also have in Dominica, leaders who have taken “swipes” at a local doctor, in parliament of all places, just because he dared to express his opinion. Let’s hope the time will come the Dear Leader will bat for all the freedoms enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Lest we forget, my Bible says that you will know Christians by their obedience to all the scripture and not by quoting certain parts to connive and manipulate. Even the devil can quote scripture says that Holy Book.

This also goes for you. You hate and you quote Scripture. The devil hates. He loves you for you are disobedient to God and his teachings according to Holy Scripture – The Word of the Lord.
You really do not know what is contained in Holy Scripture. If you did, you would be enlightened to know that you must love; not hate. Pray to God to assist you to love, no matter what your political preference.

Skerrit’s care for the elderly is opportunistic.
If he genuinely cares for the elderly and the poor, he would not be singing his own praises every time he gets an opportunity.
There are many Dominicans who help the elderly and the poor with a good heart but you do not hear them singing praises.
Agriculture, construction, manufacturing, tourism, and all other economic activities are down.
People who use to take care of their parents can no longer do so, what else can the government do than assist in that small way?
So Skerrit stop that s…. and address the real problems of the land. Dominica has never had religious problems and will not have for the unforeseeable future.

    • The Facts
      August 19, 2014

Caring for elderly and helping the poor is an opportunist? You have stated nonsense. Would you rather see them hungry and starve to death?
I cannot believe that if you are a Christian and a practicing one at that you would make such an ungodly statement.
He is the PM, the Leader of the country. He has an obligation to assist these people. You deserve God’s punishment. Wait and see.

The only freedom in religion is the freedom to leave it. Religion is slavery, only for the spiritually lame and handicapped. Jesus rebukes his mother to the cross that he may carry his Word. Yet we commemorate the virgin mary forgetting the principles of Yashua that are to be built from within in silent prayer n meditation. Worship is a sin to the spiritually inclined, but the malformed understanding of the weak still exalts worship as a Godly thing. Hmmm the blind leading the Blind. The worshippers are the less fortunate not the economically poor. The pope is a demon possessed man. He cannot teach a man how not to depend on his hypocritical understanding of reality, to know his God from within. When God is natural..

Oh My Finger! DNO, when growing up as a young Catholic boy there were two things my church would allow: 1. They would NOT marry anyone who was already married and their spouse was still alive. 2. They would not allow any one especially politicians to come on the holy pulpit to preach politics. I realize of late they seem to have changed that rule. Is it that they admit their teaching / tradition was wrong? Or they have just lowered their standard to accommodate special persons? Whatever the case may be is that not wrong even if we wrap wrong in an attractive giftwrap? I guess if we have to keep changing like that it wont be long before we start to marry same sex from the pulpit too

The answer to that is, my advice, view and listen to Eternal Word Television Network – EWTN and you will hear these world occurrences which concern us and affect us, wherever we may reside, spoken of. In this era, it is necessary. The congregation must be told.
In bygone years, we did not have TV and Internet. Some did not have a radio. Therefore, they did not know what was going on in the outside world. Today, we hear and read. It is absolutely necessary to inform the congregation and to remind them of what is occurring in the world and our duty to one another as taught by Our Lord Jesus Christ , the Apostles and Disciples. There is absolutely nothing wrong in that. In this case, you need to mature and broaden your mind. Whatever the PM stated. he was within his right.

Mr Prime Minister, too many times we Dominicans like to compare Dominica with other countries which is a sad situation

Me Prime Minister we in Dominica and those outside are awaiting to hear from you and who ever minister responsible for human rights regarding what transpired in the north of Dominica , we are awaiting to hear from you as the head of the state regarding the young man who was brutally attacked outside the prison gate, we are awaiting a speech from you Tony and the others regarding the violation of human rights, lawlessness, the rise in crime on the island and many more dishonest activities taking place in Dominica for which you the head of the state, the Queen’s Representative, the church leaders your ministers of government, your comrade Tony is silent, too many double standard and injustice in the island, after tony repeatedly asked for the police to arrest Danny Lugay numerous times on Kairi the police did exactly what tony and the rest said,
Mr Prime Minister Dominicans are crying out for justice for Mr Emmanuel and his wife, now we are calling for justice for Mr Ettienne, Mr Prime Minister the family of the young man is crying and hiring for justice for their love one, don’t be a coward and run and hide your face and talk and religion prosecution in Iraq. Korea and the other countries when we are being prosecute and tortured by the hands of our own on the island

  30. The Authorities
    August 18, 2014

We The Authorities tried to advise PM Skerritt that speaking at this function would polarize him negatively, but he insisted on ignoring us once again.

His own mentor E.O.LeBlanc constantly referred to the Catholic priests as “blood-suckers” while campaigning and never lost an election.

Our advice also included the fact that “religious freedom” is an oxymoron as the doctrine of some religions is to eliminate all others.

We also suggested that he do some research on the Crusades before he attempted to unite the church and state, but that went to deaf ears.

    • The Facts
      August 19, 2014

Who are you to tell the PM what to do? Do you not think you are out of place? You consider yourself ms, mrs., mr. know-all?
What did E.O. LeBlanc do for Dominica and for the Church?
So he did not lose an election because the people did not listen to his words. At the same time, not everyone voted for him. Some people were not then interested in politics. The votes could have been rigged.
In those days D/cans were not as aggressive and demanding as some of those of today. I have also stated, we did not have TV and Internet and most people did not have a radio in their homes. Therefore, they could not have cared less. So some voted for him.
Since he made such a godless statement, do you not think that God punished him for this? Ever wonder where his soul is in eternity?

  31. I believe the bible
    August 18, 2014

“But we must also pay particular attention to the scripture reading which made reference to the fact that we have to look after the less fortunate in our society.” Mr. Skerrit, do not use the bible to justify the partisan thingy you are doing. While it is true that the Bible has much to say about caring for elderly parents and other family members who are not able to care for themselves. The early Christian church took it as their responsibility to act as the social services agency for others. They cared for the poor, the sick, the widows and the orphans who had no one else to care for them. Christians who had family members in need were expected to meet those needs.an obligation that many of us are willing to accept. However, the apostle Paul made it very clear that such responsibility was not for the church, but rather, children and close family members 1 Tim. 5:4, because those who have failed to take care of their loved ones have denied the faith and is worse than an infidel 1 Tim. 5:8. So to try to play politics and score votes you have made it part of your social program. That is wrong and unscriptural! Make it worse, you are discriminating against those that really need help but are not DLP supporters.

Unfortunately, caring for our parents in their old age is no longer

so… what about people like me who do not believe in any of that church stuff?.. Is the real religious freedom?… or am I made to live by the rules of the religious majority?

I would like to think there is REAL religious freedom, the right to not believe is an essential part of that freedom.

      • The Facts

You do not believe? It is nothing to be proud of. Too bad for you. Just as your mind can make you sick or well, so will your mind either save you or condemn you, whatever path you choose.

  33. Oh MY Finger!
    August 18, 2014

What is wrong with this new preacher? Haven’t we always enjoyed religious freedom in Dominica? Is he being directed by the lord to warn us against things to come, is he wins the next election? We better take warning, as this is no coincidence here. In that same context he is telling us that “There are many parts of the world where such freedom does not exist.” Folks, my mom always said to me to “show me your friends and I will tell you who you are.” When we look at the PM’ friends we will see that they all have something in common – they DO NOT HAVE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM!. For example: Muammar Gaddafi of Libya. Gaddafi is on record as one of the leading haters of Christianity and religious freedom and yet, Skerrit adopted him as father. Needless to talk about countries like Iran, China, and other communist nations where Christians have to hide to practice their faith. Their is nowhere in the world where people enjoy religious freedom like the USA. But then again we have heard this same Skerrit attacking the policies of the USA especially where the right and freedom of others are concerned. So yes Mr. Skerro, you are really warning us against what we should expect if you are re elected as PM. hope those priests, pastors, Evangelists, Bishops and Christians as well as other religious groups have ears to hear what the spirit is saying to them

So nowadays there is no function and roles for specific pulpits. Even in church pulpits politics is evident. Readers do not get me wrong, what pm is saying is true, care , help etc. but politics has its place. in addition the catholic church has turn all feast political right now. hahahahahaha…the only thing those feast bringing all parl rep that not catholic in church. They does even bow to virgin Mary and making the sign of the cross.

    • The Facts
      August 19, 2014

You better not scoff at that. I have much to inform you and teach you about the Blessed Virgin Mary and making the Sign of the Cross.
People as you have a wrong notion of the Catholic Church and its devotions. I do not have the time to write about it. If I did, the writing would be long. It is my feeling that God is prohibiting me from telling you more and so is the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Only this I will tell you of what Our Lord Jesus Christ said which is crossing my mind: “Do not give your pearls to the swine and what is holy to the dogs lest they trample on them and tear you to pieces.”
This is what people as you are doing to God, to the Catholic Church and to the Blessed Virgin Mary. One day you will pay for that. Always keep in mind that God knows, hears and sees all things. Nothing is hidden from him. One day He will judge each one of us. The good will go to Heaven. The evil one, the scoffers will go to Hell. Take note.

In this present Dominica teeming with poverty and indigency, i wonder how many people really have too much to give to the poor. Is it the ministers of government? Skerrit needs to tell us. Many people would really like to help, but they cannot even help themselves, because most are jobless and hungry, complements the begging syndrome cultivated by Skerrit himself to perpetuate his rule over the people..
I wonder why Skerrit stayed clear fromn EQUAL RIGHTS AND JUSTICE.
GON EMMANUEL is still awaiting justice. It’s almost 4years since an attempt was made on his life.
43 counts of criminal misconduct is yet to be read to Skerrit’s lawyer.
Joshua Ettienne family is struggling to find justice.. We are aware of these things Skerrit, even when you stay FAR REMOVED FROM THEM, even the global community are aware and are listening..
    HOW LONG?
    NOT LONG!

Dominica must be congratulated if there is only one unsolved case on our books. Or so it would seem by the comments I have been reading since the fire.

For years I have been watching unsolved cases on television and you would be surprise the amount of them that remain unsolved. Sometimes after how many years a piece of evidence turns up and a cold case is re-opened.

I am only hearing of one such case it seems that need solving in Dominica. In that case, we have to give out Courts credit where credit is due for doing such a miraculous job.

Separation of church & state. Why should the PM talk at a church service? This is not National Day of Prayer, it is the parish feast.

    • August 18, 2014

The persons who allowed the PM to speak are those who should be held responsible because they know jolly well he will be speaking nothing less than politic so because he gives them money he can come whenever he feels like and use the church to his benefit.. People of Dominica when is enough enough we have to ask ourselves what is going on in Dominica why are we so afraid to speak to act what is happening to us I understand that the older folks feel they haven got much to give but what about those that knows better what about our young people why are they just standing on the side hopping that Lennox Linton, Thompson Fountain and Team Dominica will do it for them they need everyone to rally with them they cant do it alone.
Young people get moving just like how the young people did with OBAMA in the USA they worked and make sure he was elected to bring the changes they were looking for you can do it in Dominica don’t allow yourself to be dominated by any minister and that also include the PM and some church leaders.
Change must come to all Dominicans at home and in the diaspora we just have to work to make it happen so we can get the justice for Mr.Emmanuel the young man who died in the jail house in Portsmouth and all the others .
