A Gros Islet parish priest is no longer in ministry after internal investigations by the local Roman Catholic church have confirmed startling revelations concerning his relationship with an adult male recently.
Gros Islet Parish Priest Fr. Stephen Quinlan was reportedly sent for counselling.
The announcement of Quinlan’s departure was read in the St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church in Gros Islet town on Saturday night (July 5).
Archbishop Robert Rivas, Roman Catholic archbishop of the Archdiocese of Castries in St. Lucia, reportedly read the statement.
According to reliable sources, Archbishop Rivas said at the time of reading the statement, Quinlan is no longer in ministry.
It was further stated that Quinlan was disbarred after complaints by parishioners were investigated and found to be true.
When St. Lucia News Online contacted Archbishop Rivas by telephone, he said a statement will be issued to all media on Monday, July 7 concerning the issue.
A member of the St. Joseph The Worker confirmed that Quinlan resigned and that the statement was read, but explained that Archbishop Rivas will be the one dealing with the press in regards to the matter.
Below is the full statement released by the archdioces of Castries.
Allegations of inappropriate behaviour, incompatible with the priesthood, were brought against a priest of the Archdiocese of Castries.
Using the mechanisms at its disposal, The Archdiocese initiated a process of investigation. The accuser and the accused priest were interviewed by the Delegate appointed by the Archdiocese.
The Archdiocesan Review Board, after serious deliberations on the report filed by the Delegate, concluded that the accused priest, in his relationship with the accuser, acted inappropriately.
The Archdiocese considers this inappropriate behaviour, incompatible with the priesthood, a serious matter, and has taken the decision to withdraw the priest from pastoral ministry with immediate effect. The priest has been put on administrative leave and during this time will receive spiritual and counselling support. The accuser has also been offered counselling support.
The Archdiocese of Castries invites all brothers and sisters of goodwill to pray for healing for all involved.

Even though the majority of R.C priests are heterosexuals this minority of homosexuals priests are the ones who are creating the problems for the Church and its people.
This confirms the fact that among homosexuals there is a distorted sexuality that is pathologically exaggerated. Most of the sex crimes against children committed by R.C. priests
are committed by the smaller percentage of homosexual priests. In other words it is not the larger number of straight priests molesting little girls. It is the smaller number of gay priests molesting little boys. This demonstrates the fact that homosexuals are more apt to molest children.
Homosexuals are drawn to the priesthood. These are men who have no desire to marry so the priesthood is no sacrifice in that respect. It gives them a cover for their homosexuality. Nobody is going to think it strange that
they are not married or dating. It also brings them in what appears to be innocent contact with men and little boys, which gives them an ample supply of potential male partners.
Most of these men know they will not be changing their orientation any time soon. But their supposed work for God (actually for the organization they call The Church) gives them a sense of closeness to God and increases their hope of forgiveness and heaven. In their belief system their sins of the flesh can be absolved in the confessional and by penance as long as they work faithfully at their duties.

Since I have his number, or the number he called from; and I know he is a fraud, I am going to report this to the FBI, and give them his number, or the number he called from so that either the FBI, or the police can become involved his scam.

Telemaque, I know all about those who inform computer owners about their computer crashing. We are constantly being warned about that. Some people I know have also informed me that they received such calls. They told me of their response to them which I like.
I do not ask you or expect you to take sides. This writing was written personally to DNO and DNO reserved the right to post it or not. Frankly, I did not expect DNO to post it.
I am asking you to stay out of this and what in reality you cannot prove.
You are in the US and I am in Canada. You have a habit of contradicting, criticizing and denying what others state and believe that you always know more than they do, repeating what they stated at the beginning of your writing.
I am no fool. I have weighed out the situation. I do not have to repeat myself to you but I reiterate that what I stated occurs “only when I am on DNO.”
I write other News Websites in the US and also in Canada and I have never experienced this. The flaw could be on DNO’s side and the owner/management is probably not aware of that. Sometimes, these things occur in an inside job. As I said, I will be contacting my Provider to check my computer system.

If DNO said it did not occur from their Website, I could contact the Media in Toronto and inform them of what I stated to DNO, also giving a copy to other Toronto authorities.
While on DNO, for some weeks now, I noticed a pornography picture on the centre top screen. Later there were pictures of two black men smiling. It appeared as the other advertisements on DNO. It would appear and other advertisements would appear. I told my better half about it. It was noticed.
I also informed my family and a few friends whom I interact with frequently. I used a screen on the area where the picture would be shown and frequently which blocked it from view. I informed DNO about it and the advertisement for “Perky’s Pizza” which I made note of. This is why I stated to stay away from this. Would love to tell you more but this is sufficient.

An Interesting Story

My heart goes out to Father Quinlan even though this has happened to him. When we read a story through the Media and this is worldwide Media, we tend to immediately believe it. Later the story is retracted and they apologize for their error. I do hope this one is an error of judgment.
You know Holy Father Pope Francis listens. He evaluates everything.. My suggestion is that you write to him and inform him of what you know about this situation. You can do so on the Vatican Website. Do not fear doing that.
Get signatures of those who know the truth to help you to back up your information.
You could also go to your local Media to inform them about the truth. If I resided in St. Lucia and I knew the truth, I would not keep quiet about it. I would report it to the higher authorities of the Church.

The whole catholic church is based on sex and ritual. The Vatican is the richest entity in the world and the main controller of wealth. It worships the fish god named Dagon. @ itassi4us. Since DNO did not post my comment I will Reply to yours. On a spiritual perspective, we were all created by god to serve him. The greatest gift he has given us is to procreate through sex. It can only happen with a man and a woman. However, God has created rules through the ten commandments, one of which is do not commit formication or adultery. This means sex should be between married man an woman. In procreation you create a family and a man’s responsibility is to make sure his family grows with and serves God.
However, the bible says a man who is not married is better off than a man who is married in God’s eyes, because his time and priority is to the service of the lord. A man who is married on the other hand must serve his family first then the lord. Hence the reason priest do not get married. So their sole purpose in life is to serve God. If you cannot give up all for God then we all have problems. I do not condone homosexual activities by priest or men because it cannot fulfill God’s gift of procreation. However, all sin is sin and for those of us who are quick to condem the church for the actions of a man reflect on your lives and ask yourselves this questions. Am I following the moral rules set out by God. Am I being a responsible father or mother. Have I lived a life of purity. And if the answer is yes then by all means throw stones.

If I were you, I would not worry about other priests. Worry about your soul that you do not fall into temptation. We know that everyone is tempted and fall into temptation. No adult, not even a child is not tempted and fall into temptation. Some just continue in their ways.
Therefore, look to yourself and other members of your family. Pray for yourself, for them and the entire world. This is also what God requires of you.
You are not exempt from sin and who knows some really bad ones. God knows this too. The finality of this is, utilize your common sense if you have any and mind your own business.
There are times when you write you should try to be more explicit, even though brief, giving others a clear understanding of what you meant. Of course, without mentioning names. Priests have been abusing children for years and they only get transferreed to other churches. Only this time the complaints and displeasure were overwhelming so something had to be done. The whole church concept was brought about as a means of controlling behaviors in people and making them submissive and guilt ridden if they didn’t follow what they were told to do. Man and its’ controllers were the writers of the bible not God.
Being married makes no difference. Take a good look around in our very own back yards, communities etc alot of the married men some are ministers some are pastors have their wives and girl friends as cover up and yet do the very same thing. Where are you, up in Mars? Some of you make statements but you appear not to know anything. The other churches have had their share of it also right in Toronto. Some are imprisoned. One of them had his own church. His wife was murdered. He was in love with his secretary. Approximately two years later he was arrested and charged with her murder.

All I know is that when a person is under the guidance and teachings of God’s Holy Spirit–that person will not be able to do anything that is fleshly or lustful.
That would be so because that person is in the process of mind renewal–the would mean that that person is on his or way to a perfect Life–for what has corruption to do with incorruption or what had darkness to do with Light. God in control, which guide that person into the attitude and conducts which gives Him delight.
But this men remain in the priesthood for years and years, preaching the things that make ignorant and innocent people feel so guilty while in their heart, they are an abomination before God–He could not gave commanded and guided that kind of abomination.
That is the reason why the idea of celibacy or no marriage for the Roman Catholic priests and nuns, is not a command from God –those men and women are forced to live with that burning passion, to the point of turning to men or women like themselves– all because they chose to serve God. How is that all the other denominations of the Churches allow their pastors and preachers to have wives and husbands.
It is true that the human mind can produce a lot of —bad fruits, priest or not, men become sexually attracted to men and women to women–through the production of their mind–that is a prophecy from the Bible concerning the last days towards the return of God, Himself through His Person, Jesus Christ.
But I believe that a person should be allowed to choose their Lifestyle–one that is pleasing before his God of Holiness.
This man made law of the Roman Catholic Church is a spiritual hazard for both the priest and the nun–those people are human, and it is extremely difficult for them to stand against the desire of the flesh–if they did not choose to live against that desire–for that call would not have been from God.
All that law does is expose those people to shame and public embarrassment; for all we know many of those priests are framed by people who are wicked and evil–thinking that they can receive compensation (money) for making those claims. Lord have mercy!

When you die, Our Lord Jesus Christ will reveal to all of you the importance of the Priesthood, why He instituted it and why they should remain celibate. These things cannot be revealed on earth to the critics, the doubters, deniers and the enemies of the Catholic Church. God has veiled their brains and thoughts.
You do not think on spiritual terms but on earthly/mortal terms. All things are passing only eternity remains. Ensure you do not miss the boat of salvation. Do not be presumptuous.
Jesus did not institute the rule of celibacy. In the Bible St. Paul said that it is best to remain as he, meaning celibate, but if he is on fire and constantly tempted, then it is better to take a spouse than to fall into sin. Marriage is Biblical. Mandatory celibacy is not. it should be optional. Chastity is Biblical. Sex is for marriage. That is Biblical. Therefore, celibate people should abstain from sexual relations and hold their sexuality under submission to God and not to the Catholic Church. If you do some research on when mandatory celibacy was instituted you will find when and why this came to be. If the church mythicizes celibacy by attaching deep spiritual significance to the behavior, then it makes the priests believe that it is the highest way to serve. However, the highest way to serve is through love, relationship and obedience. God created human sexuality and desire. God created us in Him image. Make is optional. Keep sexuality holy. Honor God thru our God given nature

So much of that has being going on for too long. … finally one is confronted.
Be fair. Do not overlook the other sins. The same with some married men. There are few who are faithful.
I heard Dominica has a lot of prostitution. There are also the homosexuals and the lesbians. Do you think they are able? What do you say about that?
When you address this issue of going on for too long, address the other issues. Prostitution is an old one. Homosexual and lesbians have also been around for a while but were under cover.
It is sad to read this. As Our Lord Jesus Christ said, whatever is occurring in the world, these things are bound to happen. God knows there are all types of sins, some greater than others. As He knows, not all warrant Hell but some will warrant Hell. We have an enemy who appears to be the ruler of the world. God is allowing him for now. At the same time, to see how we will react to the evil one; will we succumb to his whims and wiles and which path we will choose to follow. We know that Dominica is not devoid of sins of every nature. No exception St. Lucia and other countries of the world.
What caused the priest to involve himself in this, only he and the person he interacted with know. Therefore, be fair and compassionate. Always think of yourself and place yourselves in his position. Now that his actions are out in the open, obviously he is embarrassed. This is why he is receiving counseling also to change and make amends to God.
Obviously, the Church does not condone this type of behavior and any other type of ungodly behavior but it cannot turn it’s back on him. He needs help. Consider if everyone turned their back against him what would he do? It is not the way of God and love to turn their backs on him. You know, “Love the sinner. Hate the sin.” If he does not want help then this would be a different story.
Those who sin be it gravely and who also embarrassed themselves are deserving of God’s compassion and mercy. Every one of us has recourse to God to plead for this.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did not die for nothing. I have considered if God was not the God of Love that He is, He would have destroyed the world of today. I have also considered that it is through Our Lord Jesus Christ’s Passion and Death that He has not yet destroyed the world and He is so patient. I need not elaborate further on it for you should know.
Let everyone examine their conscience to see whether they are living in faith, in godliness (St. Paul).
When some people read articles they never think beyond and put on their thinking cap. They get on this Website and make derogatory statements. In the case of this Priest, they must consider who approached whom. We will never find out which one was the stronger and weaker in this or were they the same. I know some St. Lucians and I may hear more about the truth but we will not lambaste the Priest. We will pray for him. This is what genuinely faithful Catholics, people/children of God will do.
I hope you stick to the issue. Some of you know what is occurring in Dominica, one of which is abuse of every nature, women and children. Never think you are not devoid of sin and will not continue sinning while your life lasts. No one is immune to sin of whatever nature.
How many people can resist the devil and his temptations? Who is strong enough to resist him in any manner? While they are making evil comments, they are sinning at the same time, doing their thing in secret. God knows as nothing is hidden from him.
They must also keep in mind how they were conceived and by whom. If those years were as today, many men of all would be arrested, charged and imprisoned. How many women were weak with their bodies? As adults, they freely gave in. Therefore, I reiterate, be compassionate for whatever we state which is ungodly, as some love throwing stones, they will pay for it someday, if not sooner than they expect. We never know which way the ball will roll. I love to quote, “Everyone gets a turn at the wheel sometime.”
Therefore, please pray for others as this Priest Father Stephen Quinlan. I have no doubt that he is feeling extremely ashamed for what he has done and now he is dismissed from the priesthood. He must be thinking, what will his future be like.
Catholic Dominicans and St. Lucians, God is giving us an opportunity to pray and to pray more for our Priests, the laity, our country, politicians, the entire world in general. No exception Fr. Quinlan. We must use this opportunity fruitfully. God is expecting this from us as always.
Those who are not of the Catholic faith, you are not exempt for you also have to pray for your brothers and sisters. We are all brothers and sisters in Our Lord Jesus Christ. Some appear to have forgotten that. If we hope to obtain eternal salvation, we are obligated to practice love to one another
We should always keep this saying in mind which is an old adage: “There but for the grace of God go I.”

The accuser is now an adult male but this could have been going on for years which may have included his minor years. Be smart people…read between the lines. All that for two consenting adults. Do you know how many priests are in consensual sexual relationships right now. well they better watch their backs.

For a Priest, yes, it is surprising, shameful and embarrassing for the Church in general of which many of us are members. Human beings are weak of spirit. Few can resist temptations which the evil one throws at them as he surrounds them day and night. Everyone should know how difficult it is to resist him.
Sometime ago during a conversation I said, Satan is rampant especially in these times. We do not know when the end will come but as the world progresses and some people of the world are becoming more godless and sinful, we are getting closer to it. Some may pass away prior to that. Only God knows.
One thing, let no one cast judgment for all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. Even casting judgment at others is a sin. Recall what Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Judge not that you may not be judged twofold.” He also said “Take out the splinter in the eyes…”

It is said, the number of Christians there are in the world, the world should be converted by now. As you can see, if every Christian and practicing ones at that would do their part in godliness and prayer, there would be no sin on earth. The Media has always given a lot more of broadcasting and printing to issues about the Catholic Church but they condone homosexuals and lesbians and so-called same sex marriage. They dare not say anything about them. No exception in Canada – Toronto. One day, the Good Lord will take care of them.
Faithful Catholics know that the Media is after the Catholic Church. It is the persecution of the Catholic Church. God will deal with them in time.
Consider how many people have divorced. Some have married and not in a consecrated Church. They marry, separate, divorce. Some murder their wives/husbands and children.
The Mother of God, the Ever Blessed Virgin among some of her messages to visionaries said:, “The world is in a state of sin, worst than at the deluge. It is necessary for God to purify the world.”
This is a message for us all so that we will pay heed and submit to God.
The problem with some people, they do not look at their sins and the sins occurring in especially their households. They look at other’s sins. God will punish these more severely.
What we have to do is to do our utmost to live a godly life and to ensure that we obtain eternal salvation. On that day there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I do not want to judge others but based by what the critics say, many of them are sinners. God knows who they are.
They are not making an effort to save their souls but they will lambaste the Catholic Church and the Priests. One day God will expose them for all to see when He will judge all nations and all people.
