A Talent Evening showcasing the young people of the community will be the highlight of the staging of this year’s installment of  the Warner Village Feast.

Activities for the event are planned from May 13, 2013 to May 20, 2013 and it is being organized by The Warner Development Committee in collaboration with the Parliamentary Representative, Rayburn Blackmoore.

The feast is being held under the theme “Promoting Community Togetherness To Achieve Community Development”.

There will be a launching ceremony on Monday May 13, 2013 during which Blackmoore will give brief remarks and declare the activities open.

This will be followed by a panel discussion on the theme – “Men – Our Worth, Our Values, Our Role in Society”.

The panellists will be Inspector Claude Weekes, Thomas Holmes and Pastor Martin Douglas. Inspector Michael Laudat will be the moderator.

Other activities include a Happy Hour on Friday night at Weldon’s Bar with DJ Cut; Happy Hour on Saturday night at Weldon’s Bar with DJ Flintastic. Sunday night, a live popular band will rock the village in a street dance, culminating on onday afternoon with a block-o-rama.

The highlight of the event will be the Talent Evening and proceeds from that show will go towards the Warner Primary School.

A number of sporting activities including women’s football, family fun sports, and a domino competition, will also form part of the activities for the weekend.

An important aspect of the activities is the celebration of the Chapel Feast on Pentecost Sunday, May 19, 2013. The mass starting at 3.00 pm, will be presided over by Bishop Gabriel Malzaire and the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica will be in attendance. The activities will also include three nights of teaching by Fr. Herman Shaplis on “Ignorance of the Scriptures is Ignorance of Christ” from Wednesday May 15 to Friday May 17, 2013.

all you not seeing is politics that runs things in the country. the parl rep do not want mr. isidore in anything he is handling. he does not like competition. :-P the nice thing about mr. isidore is that he cares for everyone and do not have favourites and think about who vote him or not. I remember him saying in to his supporters do not make noise with the laborites get them on board we are all Dominicans at the end of the day. Way to go Mr. Isidore we love you. you are there with us from day one nothing going to change that. WARNER PEOPLE KNOWS WHAT THEY WANT. THEY CANNOT BE FOOLED BY ALL THESE WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHING.
