Tremors in Guadeloupe and Dominica

Earthquakes continue to plague the Caribbean region following the deadly 7.0 tremor in Haiti that has claimed over 100,000 lives and displaced several millions.
Latest reports are that a 5.1 magnitude earthquake struck off Guadeloupe on Sunday at a depth of 42.2 miles (67.9 km) and residents in Dominica, especially in the southeast, have reported feeling tremors.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the quake struck at 5:43 p.m. EST/2243 GMT at a distance of 21 miles (34 km) east-north-east of Grand-Bourg, Guadeloupe.

There were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning, Reuters news agency reported.

Residents in Dominica have reported feeling tremors earlier Sunday, but no damage has been reported.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.

That article was NOT written by Insider. He just merely pasted it in the forum.

The article he pasted in there made a lot of sense. To many times we create God to fit our convenience, that God is like a puppet on a string that we can manipulate at leisure when it fits us like that idiot Pat Robertson. How does he know what is in the mind of God? Sadly many gullible people think like that and that is quite evident on this forum.

While there is a immovable and one God, we keep on re-creating Him to fit us.

From the time of the major earthquake in Dominica in 2004, we (residents of the north) have been feeling shakes almost on a daily basis. We can’t prepare for an earthquake as we do for hurricanes. We have just become accustomed to the shakes. Depending on the magnitude of the tremor, we get a little worried but there is nothing we can do. I have, on numerous occasions, called the Office of Disaster Management and the Met Office to report the tremors when they occur. However, I hardly hear about it in the news. We are just hoping and praying that God will protect us.

Prophet2: because you are a catholic doesn’t say you are a christian and it does not say that you are a child of God.
.Have you accepted Jesus Christ into your life? Did you ever have a personal relationship with God?

Well you know God does not need us, we need Him. He holds the breath that we have. The day will come when we all will come before Him in judgement. If you have never given Him your life then is now. The things that we say and do here, we have to give account for them.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only son Jesus to die on the cross to save us.

Anyone can pray, but not everyone is heard. Jesus clearly said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” [John 14:6] How do we come to the Father through Him? We must receive him and believe in his name. [John 1:12]

That requires a decision on our part. There is more to it than praying “in Jesus’ name.” We must decide that we believe He is the Son of God Who died for our sins. This believing is more than “understanding the truth.” Even evil spirits believe in Jesus in that way. Even satan prayed too.

Being a child of God does not guarantee that God will hear our prayers, if we do not rconfess our sins on a regular basis. In Psalm 66 we read, “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.” [Psalm 66:18] And in Isaiah, “But your iniquities [unconfessed sins] have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.” [Isaiah 59:2] Unconfessed sin grieves His Holy Spirit and breaks our fellowship with the Lord. Until it’s confessed, He will not hear our prayers. So look into your past and see where you went wrong.
You may not end up dying a sudden death, but a painful one. Now is the time to give Him your life before it is too late. Accept Him, confess your sins daily and live for Jesus and then He will hear and answer your prayers. But still we have to know too that God does everything in His time; Not in ours. I pray that you accept Jesus right now.

There is one unconfessed sin that is especially serious. Jesus, in the verses following the model prayer, or the Lord’s Prayer, of Matthew 6, admonishes His disciples: “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” [Matt. 6:14-15]

Yet, we need not fear broken communication with our Lord. Keeping the lines of communication open with God our Father is a simple thing. The apostle John assures us, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” [1 John 1:9] The key word here is “if.” We have a choice. It is up to us whether or not we confess our sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.

AMEN! teddle cat” – just a matter of time when man will know who GOD is. they criticize de chrisitan leaders but in times like that they always call on them to pray.

but believe it or not there is a day coming when persons like “insider” will bow and worship HIM. because He says heaven and earth will pass away but my words will never pass away.

It’s amazing how persons chose to believe some things and others they dont. With our bare eyes we see at funerals da previous graves dat was dug up for the present corpse to be buried.

“dust we come and dust we return. That was GOd’s word and u dont have to read anything to see it.

Dont bother urself “teddle cat” do u know that it takes more effort and alertness not to believe there is a GOd than to just believe He is there.

i rather believe there is something and later find out that it is not dere than dont believe it is there and later proved that it exsisted.

“Insider” had better ask for forgiveness because that is blaspheming God’s name, man never created God.

his conscience will soon bother him dont worry. just keep praying for people like dem and that rediculous insert he placed there.

    What a bunch of foolishness.

These things have been happening for ten of millions of years before recorded history and will continue millions of years to come.

The planet has never stopped creating and re-creating itself and will never stopped.

It has nothing to do with sin or Chavez or the US.

    Industrial Action:

I consider myself a Christian, I grew-up as Catholic and did the whole 9 yards and I’ve been praying to God ever since I was a boy but lately I went on strike and we’re not on speaking terms. So I refuse to pray until we can negotiate something because He/She has never answered my prayers, I feel it is a one way thing and it is not fair, so I don’t bother anymore.
I know there is a Creator but not who or what we think He or She is. I look at what’s going on in the world today and I think we’re on our own.

Insider! . Are you an atheist or what; well reconsider yourself because it is only a fool who would write such garbage of God. There is a God and He is real; whether you believe it or not does not change a thing about God.
SIN is the reason why many of these things happening and unless we repent we shall all likewise perish. Math 24:7 reads For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
These are signs of the endtimes!! So prepare yourself; accept the Lord Jesus Christ, be saved before it is too late. You may not know the hour or time that He comes
THE FOOLISH HAS SAID IN HIS HEART THAT THERE IS NO GOD!

God will have the last say however

    January 25, 2010

We should have been PRAYING and THANKING GOD long before now so we would not have to be so worried about the tremors now. God said they will come and they are coming. I can understand Haiti has raised a lot of concerns but what ever has to happen, will happened.
God is in control and He will do just what He said he will.
On the other hand ……i was really scared when i felt the house started shaking last night. Oh yes..i was afraid to go in the shower after. Almost did not take a shower last night. boy.
It’s never a nice feeling to feel the ground under you shaking eh. Lord please continue to protect us and let your will be done in Haiti.

For all those who think that GOD is responsible for the terrible disaster in Haiti, should read this very interesting article by Mark Wignall, a Jamaican journalist.
IN THE BEGINNING MAN CREATED GOD
    By Mark Wignall
And then man created God in his own image to represent him.
Not too long after man created God to represent all of the whims and fancies of mankind, man created God to be the creator of all of the convenient bits and pieces of what he, as mankind desired God to be.
First of all, said mortal man, God must be our creator so, let us endow God with the power to create us even though, in the first instance, we were the ones who created Him.
Who are we, mere mortals, affected by many twisted illnesses of the body, and the ultimate expression of our existence, that thing known as death, to dare question the charted course that we know nothing of? If we are good and love our neighbour, we die. If we steal from our neighbour who loves us, we die. If we kill our enemies who hate us, we still die. But, in the mix we create versions of God who will redeem us. But, it is only after we end the only existence we know.
The picture is clear but at the edges it is somewhat blurred. This planet called Earth (who gave it that name?) is not yet finished with its building programme. Because of that, there are many natural disasters which are a fact of what Earth and its existence in the unknown entity called the universe must endure.
Over many years there have been these so-called acts of God, like hurricanes, earthquakes, excessive rainfall leading to floods and massive loss of lives, famine due to absolutely no rain, and of course, man’s ability to tell the gullible the reason for all of it.
In 1976 an earthquake in Tangshan, China (8.3 on the Richter scale) caused the death of over 600,000 people. Where was God?
Before that happened, God, fashioned by man, created a hurricane in a poor country, Bangladesh in 1970 and after the country was flooded as a result, the death toll was about 500,000. Was God sleeping?
In 2004 when most of us in Jamaica were enjoying Christmas, said to be the celebration of the birth of the son of God, a terrible tsunami swept over the South Asian coastlines and took the lives of earth’s brothers and sisters. Close to 300,000 died. Where was God?
Close to home, the deprived nation of Haiti has been over many years economically savaged by the might of France and the USA, and it has never gained acceptance in the league of black nations. Black, as in skin colour.
Haiti has been devastated by an earthquake, and maybe close to 250,000 may be dead. Where was God? This God that we so revere.
Have we not seen this before? Devastation. Hundreds of thousands of lives lost. Then, after many days, one little child is pulled from the rubble and people say, “Oh my God, it’s a miracle. It’s God’s work.”
Well, if God could save one person, why did He arrange the killing and the suffering of over 200,000 people in Haiti?
Why has God allowed gunmen to run wild in Jamaica and kill innocent people? The answer is simple but it is, at the same time, unpalatable for many.
    God does not exist.
Of course, the religious, especially those fervently into their convenient re-creations of God have said, like the preacher man Pat Robertson, that God is vexed with Haiti. In that lies the ultimate creation of God by mankind.
The ability to tell us where the mind of this God is and what He will be doing next week.
We exist on this earth and no man, no woman knows why we are here. We do what we need to be because we are here.
Think of it for a while. What is man’s main objective? To put food in his mouth. It is not to worship an unknown entity. But, if a man is hungry, there is a need in him to blame something for it. So, he creates the alter ego of God. Satan!
I am hungry and Satan is the cause. He gets a bellyful and he says to himself, “God has given me this to eat.”
Devastation in the form of earthquakes and hurricanes attract the ignorant and the gullible. And I entirely understand them. They need a reason to explain what lies beyond their understanding.
In Haiti, if it was God who caused a child to be rescued after suffering, terrible suffering buried under a dark pile of near-death, the same religious people will tell you that it was God that caused the earthquake in the first place.
    Why?
Because, it was man who created God. Therefore it is man who created God’s job description and who decides which side God falls on. Like a good politician, man ensures that God is right on all sides. So, it was evil in poor Haiti that brought about God’s wrath.
God loves you if you are good. And even if he puts you under the pressure of Job to prove your love for Him, people like me have no right to question why such a powerful God would have need for so much evil “fun”, watching from His heaven.
If you are evil, all you have to do is say that you believe in Him. It has absolutely nothing to do with how you live. If you beat your wife on Mondays, starve the children on days in between Tuesday and Friday, kick the dog on Saturday and go to church on Sundays, it is OK in the eyes of God.
So, it was God who caused the Haitian earthquake. But it will be man who will help them recover, no matter the political intentions. Man will, after all, have his version of God constantly renewed. Why? It was man who created God in the first place.

We need to stop thinking like idiots. The usa didn’t do nothing, we humans are sucking oil and minerals from the earth. Imagine a ballon, now suck some air out(oil) the ballon implodes. Same as what the earth does, so earth quakes will be felt till the earth settles.the planet is going nowhere now or in 2012, but the human race is another story. So while the rich get richer by ripping down our mountains, we are subject to much more suffering. Haiti situation can happen here. Fight for life, we need a pm that gives a damn. vote for me next election, dominica first not outside people taking our money for roads, we as dumbnicans need to wake up.
