Voice of Life Radio on Wednesday launched its annual share-a-thon aimed at raising funds to continue its operations.
Management of the station said in a press release, that every year in December, regular programming is suspended in order to facilitate the fund raising event.
This is the 21st year the event is being held and the 8th, since the station came under local ownership.
“Our Theme of ‘Holding Our Hands in Partnership’ manifestly speaks to our time and circumstance, with the passing of the proprietor, and brings into sharper focus the challenge of ensuring that the station remains the ‘Voice of Life’, as he so desired,” the station said in its release.
This year’s event began with a tea party on October 6, which has been described at ‘successful.’
The station said although in past years, there are times when targets were not met, pledges this years have so far surpassed last year’s total pledge of $238,090.92. “For this we praise God and highly commend our partners who have shown this level of commitment in honouring their pledges. We entreat our partners and friends, however, to take a firmer grip of our hands, and encourage their family members and friends to join with us to ensure that we attain the actual target figure which will help us enhance our on-air presence,” the release said.
The Share-a-thon runs until December 15 and pledges will be taken from 5:00 am to 9:00 pm.
I thank God for Voice of Life Radio, its has been an inspiration to me and for sure i will pledge to the work of the Lord as always. May God continue to Bless this radio station and it’s staff.
