A missing woman from Portsmouth has been found alive.
Marette Baptiste was found earlier today, according to her father Marley Baptiste.
A bag, which was reportedly in her possession, was found earlier this morning.
Baptiste was found by Shervin Xavier, a farmer.
“I am happy that she was found and is alive,” he told DNO.
According to Xavier, while on his farm in “Dejean Estate” located above a DOMLEC Power Plant in One Mile, he noticed a purple bag in a ravine and found it suspicious.
“I then called my sister and asked her to contact the persons who were in search of their missing daughter,” he stated.
He said, upon investigation, he noticed the bag contained a tooth brush, toilet paper, socks, items of clothing and ginger.
With his curiosity aroused, Xavier said he continued searching the ravine and then he saw Baptiste hiding behind a stone.
“She looked frightened,” he said.
He eventually called others who were searching for Baptiste and they all rushed to the scene.
Baptiste is presently being treated at the Reginald Armour Hospital in Portsmouth.
She was last seen on January 20.

The volume of praise rising to our God from the commentators is heartening. It says something about the many loving caring people in Dominica.
Much gratitude to the police and all who shared in the search. Special thanks to the farmer who had the level of awareness to notice the purple bag and realize it was unusual. He found the woman. Thank you Sir! One person after another responded quickly when they were called upon. Much appreciation to each of you!
Obviously, there is a reason why this woman left her home and family when she did. To her the “reason” made sense at the time. She needs counselling and healing care that can only come from those with unconditional love and understanding.
The reason needs to be discovered. Help should be provided to prevent it from happening again .

it was today I was thinking of you marret, and I talked to God on your behalf. I told him if it’s someone who took you let them free you. If you fell into a precepiec direct someone to you. And today we all who were praying was heard by the Almighty God and he brought his daughter bk home to her family and friends. All glory be to you oh God. To her family pls keep a keen watch over her. Thank you Jesus for setting all our hearts and minds at peace and continue to watch over Marret.

I rejoice with the Baptiste family and the community of Portsmouth. I am particularly impressed with the level of support that the Portsmouth community and the local authorities gave to the Baptiste family in this crisis
I know the young lady. A very ambitious and aspiring young woman who always seem to be trying hard to be the best that she can be.
I really do not know why this is her lot, but God knows best. Life is just funny. Baptiste family stay focused and keep trusting the Almighty. He will not let you down. He has already given Mariette back to you and He will do greater things for you if you can only believe that He is able.

I was listening to the 1.15 news today and I heard her father saying that she had not been found. DNO , was that story rectified? If she is found I’m glad to know that and my heart goes out to her and family and those who mounted those searches , job well done
Yes, she was found, and DNO is correct. Her sister was rushing to the hospital and confirmed with me, the local farmer who found her also described the condition in which he met her. DNO can break news before the radio who normally record their interviews before they air them.
