“He stabbed me 8 times, I am not owing him and he tried to kill me.”
The words of Dowlin “Underground” Alexander as he spoke about his near death experience from stab wounds inflicted upon him by an attacker in October.
“I am a farmer, businessman…I was standing reasoning with an old man waiting for some sandwich at Cocorico on the Bay Front. I saw the man (his attacker) pass and did not take him on because I not bothered he tried to kill me a first time,” he told a DNO reporter.
Alexander explained that the man had tried to kill him before. “He said I come behind him and I never did, he called police. I myself I not in his nonsense he make his story. It have a year and going, all of a sudden he attack me again, he hugged me then a feel a knife in me. I got 8 pricks. He attacked me from behind.I tried kicking him but I was weak and was not able to defend myself as I should,” he said.
After the incident, which occurred on Monday 28th October at about 2:30pm, police public relations officer, Inspector John Carbon, had told the media that Alexander was in critical condition at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
“Dowlin Alexander was stabbed multiple times with a knife to his back and side by another man form Grand Bay for what appeared to be past problems,” Carbon reported.
But Alexander dismissed any notion of ‘past problems’ between him and his assailant.
“Is not a man I am owing at all, I respect people, he have his problems with someone else…I have no business with the man,” he exclaimed.
“The Lord knows I can put my head on a block, I am no thief. I am a businessman. I am very lucky to be alive, I am a good person. My lungs were out and some people said I am dead. I was not able to speak when I got those stabs. I am thankful to God,” he stated further.
He thanked all those who assisted him in one way or another. “The doctors, nurses and all. I am very grateful to them all and all the people of Grand Bay,” he said but recognized that not every one was as considerate in their feelings towards him.
“He wants to kill me he has tried twice, some police want be dead and they are talking about me, but I have information on them. That same guy I have given him work and assisted him and see what he did. You have to watch your back in Dominica now it is bad, I have nothing to do but God will take care of it all,” Alexander declared.
Police have arrested and charged one man in connection with the stabbing incident.

You may not be a saint but Dca has laws and they have to be respected by all including police officers. They cannot just decide to kill you because they don’t like what you are doing.
