Bishop Juan Barros of Chile is at the centre of a mass offer of resignation by Chile’s Bishops – a completely unprecedented development according to a BBC report. Barros has been accused of covering up for his mentor ( Catholic priest Ferdinand Karadima) who was found guilty by the vatican of sexually abusing young boys in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Ferdinand was sentenced to a “lifetime of penance and prayer” by the Vatican but he avoided criminal prosecution because of the amount of time that had passed since his crimes.
Bishop Barros was appointed 3 years ago by Pope Francis despite the cover up allegations. While Barros has not been accused of sexual misconduct himself he has offered his resignation multiple times with the Pope refusing in each instance.
The bishops offered a mass resignation letter after being presented with a Vatican report that accused the Chilean Church hierarchy of negligence in sexual abuse cases.

I used to think (when I was a kid) that priests didn’t ****.
As soon as you say to certain people that sexual conduct is a call of fleshly hunger, better known as the “lust of the flesh” this call is fed to the mind through any of the human senses, hence provoking the desire.
This means that sexual conduct is not “spiritually motivated”; since our God of Spirit wants nothing to do with the things of the flesh. Those people quickly jump at you, declaring that God gave human beings sex to reproduce. But if that was a truth, why is sexual conduct so connected with everything that is dirty or nasty, or downright sinful? After all, God is Holy and everything about Him is Holiness and Love, where does sexual conduct fit in the Life of Spirit and Love and Holiness? It doesn’t
A priest and a young boy at it through whatever they are doing with sex, how is that sinful practice a thing of God? What can the productive outcome of that behavior, if not shamefulness and sin?

But if we pay careful attention, we will notice that those are the words of Adam, not God, and the apostle Paul tells us “it is a great mystery”, at Ephesians 5: 31-32
Genesis 3: 16, here is what God said to Eve before He sent her out of the Garden with her husband: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
Genesis 3: 16 is a curse to Eve from God; so why would He curse her that way if the kind of sexual conduct of mankind was His plan for reproduction in the first place? “In pain, you shall bring forth children and your desire will be for your husband” Reproduction between 2 men or 2 women?

There is a right context for sex which does not make it sinful. God gave the gift of marriage. It also says that the partner should not withhold the conjugal rights (sex) from the other partner ( 1 Corinthians 7:3)
The curse to Eve was birth pains.. if there was no curse then she would have conceived and bore children without pain. Just like the curse to man was to work hard.. if there was no curse he would not have to work hard to eat. Hence, the sexual act is not the curse.
God doesn’t need sex because there is nothing more satisfying than God himself. He doesn’t need sex. He doesn’t look outside of Himself for pleasure.

This is a very sad situation, it is also a very serious one, this situation is not unique to the bigger countries. An independent investigation needs to be lunched in Dominica and the rest of the Caribbean islands.

Recently the Roman Catholic dioceses of Los Angeles paid out hundreds of millions of dollars to men who were sexually abused by priest when they were young! young boys were paid millions in compensation too. The dioceses had to sell properties in which some old Nun lived leaving them with no place to live!

The catholic Church for centuries have tried to separate Man and one of his basic needs; sex. Just because it was seen as something so “dirty”. But for centuries these Priests succumb to the physical and psychological pressure of this basic need in secrecy, similarly to satisfying their need for food, sleep, shelter and clothing overtly. It is still wrong to touch and molest underage children but the structure of the church created the enabling environment. So moving forward, the Pope will eventually change Church rules and allow priests to marry and have wives and a Family.. i havnt found a denomination that isnt a hoax. people claiming to be of God forget about being modest and use the render not your garments catch phrase to dress half naked on the streets and in the houses made for their gods. they go to church and the vast majority of the men have extramarital affairs. they judge and hate and raise their noses to those who dont abide by their cult rules, but cry his name for all to hear. the churches funds are not used for the poor, homeless, sick, aged, widowed and fatherless. it is a whole big hypocritical affair. when i tell them i wont sit in such gatherings they say dont look on the brother or sister who is a sinner, dont forsake the assembly of the righteous. but i use this catch phrase unto them, THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS. I am a practicing and devout Roman Chatholic who is diametrically opposed to the abuse of kids in any form. Every institution in the world has elements within, that are rotten and bring these institutions into disrepute. When I was a student at university I was taught in critical thinking class that it is foolish to generalize, and condemn an entire group because of the behaviour of particular members. What you are doing now is tantamount to saying all blacks are criminals and all Muslims are terrorists.
no one is saying that all priest are bad. However if the Catholic law weren’t so strict I doubt this would be happening. However I will agree with people when they say that the catholic religion is loaded with hypocracy.
