LIME to co-host CANTO’s 27th AGM in the Nature Island of the Caribbean!

The location for the 27th AGM of the Caribbean Association of National Telecommunication Organizations (CANTO) will be the nature island of the Caribbean – Dominica.

The annual event co-hosted by Cable & Wireless Dominica (LIME) will be held from the 30th -31st January 2011 at the historic Fort Young Hotel. The 27th AGM will climax with a one day workshop titled:  Disaster Recovery for Emergency Services and Business Continuity on the 1st of February 2011 sponsored   and delivered by Globecomm.

The CANTO AGM will be attended by top executive telecommunication operators and suppliers from over 31 countries.  Members will discuss the activities of the Secretariat in 2010 and will also create a working plan for the 2011 financial year.
The packed agenda features, the board and working committee meetings, the AGM proceedings and a presentation on:”Telecoms Revenue Assurance, by   Lionel Dawson of Xcell Management LLC.  Slated on the agenda is the new strategic direction  which will chart the way  forward for  CANTO and  the  highly anticipated i-Create e-Content Competition and Business of Content Conference an offshoot of the CTC Project.

i-Create 2010-11 is the first edition of CANTO’s Caribbean e-Content Competition which aims to search out and reward the most creative and innovative e-content developers in the Caribbean region.    CANTO is partnering with Infocomm Technologies (ICT) Ltd. and Ericsson including current sponsors: IgovTT, TSTT, LIME Barbados, TATT, Illuminat and UTT.

The Business of Content Conference scheduled  for the 24th -25th of March 2011 will capitalize on i-Create’s unique platform and will be a gathering of key professionals, experts and public officials in the digital media, telecommunication, culture and ICT sectors, as well as businessmen and investors in the content trade.

CANTO will also undergo some changes in board membership as some of the board positions are up for re-election. .  Full members will be given the opportunity to vote for interested candidates during the general meeting proceedings.

    Dominica was one of the 1st countrys in the world to go 100% fiber optic yet the ppl pay a shit load of money to have this service. When are u all gonna have triple play deals or something… U guys give TNT Lucia n some other islands sweeter deals. Come on man
