The Dominica Labour Party (DLP) and its counterpart, the United Workers Party (UWP) will be holding what both parties have described as family events when the election campaign continues toady Sunday Nov 9.
The UWP will hold “a major National Rally” dubbed “ Victory for Change Rally” on the Newtown Savannah in the Roseau South Constituency, .
“This Sunday 9th November, from 3.00pm, at the Newtown Savannah, We the people of Dominica, together with Team Dominica, will claim the Victory for Change, starting with the Roseau Constituencies. The most challenging of the Roseau Seats, was the Roseau South Constituency, however, right now the Roseau South is locked into the UWP camp, with Jashua Francis,” according to Zone leader of the UWP for the four Roseau Constituencies, Norris Prevost.
“It is a family occasion”, says Prevost, “and this Sunday 9th Nov. Team Dominica invites, the whole family, mothers, fathers grand mothers, children and grandchildren; the whole Nation, students, artists and musicians; farmers and fishermen, truck, taxi and bus drivers; the port workers, the city workers, and shop clerks; vendors, shop keepers and other the small business owners; teachers, nurses, and policemen; doctors, lawyers, engineers and other professionals, to be at the Newtown Savannah, to to proclaim together, that ‘ The time for change has come ! The Victory for Change is sure.’”
The Dominica Labour Party is presenting international gospel artiste Tasha Cobbs in concert at Castle Bruce from 3.00pm today. The party is promoting the concert as an event for the entire family.
“This free concert is for the entire family and everyone is invited to attend………….this Sunday Nov 9th at 3.00pm as we give thanks to the Almighty God as one nation comes together and let’s break every chain together,” the DLP states in promoting the event.

So the government brought a case of libel before the courts against Lennon Linton, the government did not attend,wasting the time of the court and showing disrespect for the rue of objective law and fair play. Had the case proceeded,and witness been put on the stand what would the world and the Dominican public learn, would they earn bout the girls who in order to secure an education had to do seual acts to ministers of government.would they learn of young girls who were promised marriage but were disappointed by the PM marriage instead, would the truth be out and the libel suit be dismissed and the government ministers been prosecuted by the public prosecutor for soliciting sexual favours and their term in office terminated ? is this why the election was called before the new year so this case could be forgotten. The young ladies will be taken care of and the truth hidden from the people. I m wondering. Why call the election now before the case is settled.

Dominican elections mirrors different everyday aspects of DA society such as a bus ride from Roseau to the country… allow me to explain in simple terms… if you’re on a bus, the bus is running and the engine is nice and hot the vehicle is moving, would you stop it to change the driver midway? Would you change the driver because he/she driver isn’t driving fast enough for some, or he/she driving too slow for others, some people will want their windows up, some people want their windows down, the bellerz sitting infront, some getting a free ride because dey pretty, some people foot squeezing, some people doh have money for the ride, the cadek doh even have a seat but he’s helping everybody get situated on the bus, some of us have too much load yet others will make space for us even if we all paying the same price for the ride… some people make mapwi saying that the driver charging more $ than other drivers. Yet when it start to RAIN heavy everybody on the bus forgets his/her differences and stay quiet because they know the driver needs to concentrate on the road, they don’t want the driver to roll down a precipice, hit another vehicle or get caught in a landslide… everybody now wants the driver to drive slow, everybody now closes their windows, everybody starts to pray secretly in their heart for a safe drive, praying they made the right choice for the bus driver to bring them safely home… not one person will argue, attack, or disrupt the bus driver because they know that man and only that man with Gods guidance can bring them home safe… well my friends it’s RAINING hard hard hard in DA, nobody wants to get wet, nobody wants the driver to put them down, and nobody want the bus to stop in the middle of the road, turn off the engine and pick up a new bus drive. A driver that don’t know the road or where the bus was going to try and drive us in this kind of rain!! Changing bus drivers will never stop the rain, knowing your driver is already halfway there, will get you home and that’s what matters HOME. Who will collect the bus fare the new hijacker or the real bus driver. Lennox pappamet U DOH READY YET!
Unfortunately Your Bus Story is missing some key elements…..
This is a big coaster bus and to get from Roseau to the country safely it needs more than just a driver. It need someone on each side of the bus to make sure its following the road and someone to watch the back to prevent accidents while reversing. The current driver is the third in the line of drivers this bus has had since leaving Roseau. The first and most senior driver had to pay the current driver to even help in navigating the bus before leaving Roseau but unfortunately could not hold on to the driver seat. The replacement driver was only able to get as far as 1/4 of the way before the current driver stabbed him in the back when he asked for help and was loosing control of the bus. This current driver now decided to take control of the bus without having taken one driving test before. He has no clue how to actually drive so he needs someone to control the steering wheel while another controls the foot pedals. The current driver just loves the “Driver” title and enjoys the driver seat and collecting the bus fare. He only allows a select few passengers to ride free provided that they are dressed in his colors while others have to pay increased fares as the bus travels on it’s way. For those passengers he don’t care too much for they are forced to find themselves holding on to outside of the bus exposed to whatever bad weather the bus might encounter. Even with 3 drivers controlling this bus has many accidents causing numerous injuries to passengers while the bus is not even getting closer to its final destination. The navigation team fears the driver and is therefore useless. All this is happening while other buses who travel the same route make it to their destination because their drivers are experienced. Nothing beats a good experienced and competent driver but the current driver does not want to give up and wants to stay no matter what his passengers say. This bus needs a new driver and navigation team if it has any chance of reaching close to it’s destination. The driver MUST GO. TIME FOR A NEW ONE!
If you where hiring for a job position, had two candidates … someone with over 10 years experience versus someone who just came out of college would you hire the college grad… NO! of course not because you need someone with experience in the position. But if you’re the hiring manager that have your own agenda/experience but want someone else to take the blame in the position, you will hire the person that just came out of college to run teh country a Tululu for the role so you can control dem like a popot. The popot tululu will face the crowd while you pulling strings in his back! Lennox has never ever in his life held political office nor has he ever admitted to any failure because you first must do something in order to fail or succeed… he’s done noting to this point!

The UWP must be more strategic in their planning,not a lot of hot air which they were in 2009. Concentrate on the seats which you have a chance of winning,you may not make the government this time round but you at least want to improve your number of seats so they can make a real difference. St. Joseph, Laplain, Castle Bruce the Kalinago Territory, Roseau Central, these are seats where work need to be concentrated to consolidate and win these seats,Wesley also can be won and possible Coulihaut. and Grand Fond, if you can make these gains along with Salisbury and Marigot, then UWP would have returned democracy to Dominica, Dominicans would have returned democracy to Dominica. Do not spread yourself thin on the ground. Concentrate, focus, strategize. Do not waste time in Ville case,.
Devious but not that smart. We all know that mr. Skerrit can not stand the thought of even being challenged in his own constituency. This time he will have to fight and handle the people person to person, come down to their level, something he is not comfortable with at all. Team Dominica will not withdraw from Vieille Case. They have nothing to lose and all to gain.
I am rather baffled as to the star of the UWP king Dice where did he sing on Saturdays night? Is the kingdom crumbling under the leadership of LL? The unnamed seats are shrinking. Captain the ship is sinking, shall we abandon ship or shall we sail on to nowhere!

I am disturbed that the election has become a matter of best entertainment instead of intelligent discussion of the issues facing Dominica and Dominicans. The present ruling leadership has demonstrated that the administration does not think that the health care available for the masses is good enough for the Ministers, when Julius Timothy was ill he had to go out off state, when The President was ill he too went out of state and when the PM wife had her firstborn she too went out of state . The people of Dominica do not have that luxury to chose where they go when they are ill. Dominica should be boasting three good general hospitals and two lesser hospitals to meet the population needs One in Portsmouth, Marigot. Grandbay as time to medical attention determines the outcome in emergencies of a life saved or lost. . and PM and Grandbay . How ever our politicians think so little of the population that money is being spent to bring in international artist to lure the people into a false sense of mental stupor, drink music and sex, no thought of the future. Where is the country heading too, what about the freedom to be able to chose your faith. Separation of church and state. Dominicans you are being told that we are back in the middle ages the dark ages when the church persecuted freedom of religion, when Kings and Queens were subject to a demonic power called the Roman church.

Since UWP was in the Roseau South constituency last night, they shoud move their campaign to Roseau Central or Roseau North today instead of another day in Roseau South. They are at the moment allowing Skerrit who has the big money to spend, to outsmart them and they better open their eyes before it’s too late.
UWP stands a very good chance of winning the election and let the entire world know that we have more wise people in Dominica than we have fools. However, they must not allow themselves to get carried away and repeat the mistakes of 2000, when they lose the election because of poor timing and planning. This time under Mr. Linton, no doubt they have gathered steam but I am afraid, as I see them making some too familiar mistakes. For example, while I believe things are changing in Roseau South I think they should spend more time and money in constituencies like Roseau South, Roseau North, Castle Bruce, St. Joseph,, Grandfond, Laplaine, Wesley, Roseau Valley and Salibia where they have a much, much, much better chance of winning. DLP’s strategy of assembling at Roseau Central yesterday and Castle Bruce today is wise and that’s what my party should be doing.

I’m afraid in this case that is impossible. Nobody blames the child, understand me well but the parents can not be that naive to think that their choice of birthplace was not significant. No, they did not commit a crime but as much as the have the freedom to chose the Dominican public has the freedom to interpret that choice and make its own conclusion. That is the price you pay for being in the public domain and drawing attention to yourself.
