Jno Lewis added that of the 621 ballots cast, 29 were rejected.
Eighteen candidates contested the election.
The results are as follows:
-Patrick Hill: 326 votes
-Jumadine Frederick: 309 votes
-Theodore Williams: 263 votes
-Mathius Valmond: 214 votes
-Reny Auguiste: 176 votes
-Gerard Langlais: 176 votes
The new council, together with recently elected Kalinago Chief, Charles Williams, will be inaugurated in August.
Is Charles Williams eligible to be inaugurated as Carib chief since he has pending court matter related to a vehicle accident is which he broke someone leg and refused to accept liability for – he also refused to appear before the court ?
I not kalinago ….a gazetted change of name is not in effect
The constitution of Dominica should be amended to a format like the Carib Council. We vote for a president or prime minister up front and afterwards vote for 11 or 15 parliamentary representatives.
