OECS Day is celebrated to heighten awareness about the OECS integration movement and to reflect on the achievements of the OECS Economic Union.
The OECS sub grouping is an important component of the Caribbean moves towards integration. The day we recognise that what unites us is and will be stronger than what divides us we will begin the road to recovery in the social and economic front of the region. The caribbean people must recognise that we need to pull our resources together both locally and internationally and combine our efforts to create a caribbean that is prosperous and progressive. If we can swallow our differences and recognise the strength of each country no matter how small, we will build the foundation for more, growth, more investment and more opportunities for a promissing future. Let our leaders recommit towards the integration process and leave a region that is defined by what it gives its people to be free rather than what it receives from others to keep it in bondasge.
Happy Birthday OECS. You have done us well!
