Although the target was not met, General Manager of the Voice of Life Radio station, Clementina Munro said that an annual “Share-a-thon Campaign” was good in comparison to other years.
Munro said a target of $398,997 was set but the share-a-thon was able to raise $285,000 for the non-commercial radio station.
She described the campaign was good since 60 percent of the target was met.
The share-a-thon was held between December 12 and 15 2012, and is the way for listeners to show their support for the station and keep it afloat.
According to Munro the idea of such campaign began when the station was not locally owned. “At that time the economy had begun to get quite depressed and they (the previous owners) owned other radio stations in the world so they were wondering how they would keep the station in the small island afloat. So when funds were low they decided to host a share-a thon,” she said.
She noted that a day of prayer and fasting was done one day prior to the commencement of the campaign as a form of preparation.
Meanwhile, Munro said that since the passing of former owner, McKenzie Mitchell, the only thing station is missing is the moral support and encouragement that he gave. Munro stated that Mitchell is still present in his family members whom are still active at the station.
She noted that the purpose of Voice of Life is to spread the gospel and win souls for Christ. “What we do is basically Kingdom building to win souls for Christ,” she noted.

I am thankful to God for VOL Radio and for the 60% attained. I am proud to be a supporter. May God continue to bless the Voice of Life Radio.
Unfortunately I missed the Share-A-Thon. I do hope that I can still give some monetary support. Is there anywhere around Roseau where I can still do so? Anyone knows?
Go CLC Book store on Hillsborough Street or you can make a direct deposit to Voice of Life account at the National Bank.
You can drop off your donation at CLC Bookstore on Hillsborough street, a few steps down from Sagicor/Whicher Services. They have envelopes and a drop box for Voice of Life Radio. God bless.
May God continue to bless the work of the VOL Radio…To ‘hm’ CLC Bookstore on Hillsborough Street has a drop off box for the VOL Radio which I have used. You could check with them there to see if that facility still exists
National Bank
I think you can do so at CLC in Roseau.
Why don’t ALL the churches in Dominica particularly the evangelic churches dedicate 2 Sundays a year when members make donation to the voice of life fund?
Just asking!!
Very good suggestion
Kingdom business.. All for the glory of the Lord. God bless the VOL.
