Seven young ladies from the Dominica State College (DSC) will take to the stage in an effort to earn the title of Ms DSC Mas Jamborie 2013.
The show is expected to take place at the Krazy Kokonuts on February 7.
The contestants made their official appearance at the 4th launch of the event on the grounds of the DSC on Thursday.
They are Jesse Cognet, Colette Ambo, Odessa Elie, Roanda Trotman, Clevette Felix, Sabina James and Johanna Faustin.
Director of Student Services, Edgar Hunter, said the pageant is more than just a show:. “The objectives of the pageant are as follows to enable contestants to serve as role models for other young women through their goals and characteristics, encourage contestants to value their personal achievements, creative accomplishments, a healthy lifestyle and community involvement and most importantly to serve as a breeding ground for the national queen show.”
The show will feature some of Dominica’s top calypsonians and a mini band splash featuring Signal Band, Kross Vibes , Triple K Global and Asa Bantan.
The event begins at 5 pm.
The pageant will be judged on beauty, intelligence, cultural awareness, style and attitude.
It is being organized by the Student’s Services Department of the institution.
The reigning Ms DSC Mas Jamborie is Markera George.
