Kaven Hodge and Odiamar Honore teamed up to provide excellent bowling performances for Print Xpress Cavaliers to defeat Grand Bazaar Dublanc by an inning and 46 runs in one of the two Digicel Augustus Gregoire Premier matches played at the Botanic Gardens over the weekend.
Batting first Cavaliers scored 188; Jelani Robinson knocked 66, Joel Mingo 38 and Kyle James 26. Damian Dumas led the bowling for Dublanc with support from Kiamba Charles and Clyde Pierre Louis.
Dublanc in their first inning crumbled for 63 to the spin of Kaven Hodge, playing his first match after returning from his attachment at the Darren Lehman Academy in Australia, and Odiamar Honore.
Ray Casimir let the batting with 22 and Emanuel Peter supported with 16. Kaven bowled 6.3 overs witj 1 maiden, 5 wickets for 9 runs and Odiamar Honore with 9 overs 3 maidens 3 wickets for 16 runs. Asked to follow on, there was little improvement in the score card which totaled 79. Shane Shillingford scored 17 and Royston Fergus 14. Kaven Hodge scored 13 overs 2 maidens 26 runs 6 wickets and Odiamar Honore 7.4 overs 0 maidens 20 runs 4 wickets.
Marinor Blasters received the same fate at the hands of Nagico Northern Stars.
