DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Mar 10, CMC – International Cricket Council Emirates Elite Panel umpire Billy Doctrove is the only West Indian slated to stand in the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 tournament starting at the end of April in the Caribbean.
Doctrove, a 54-year-old Dominican, is one of 10 Elite Panel umpires assigned to the tournament in the West Indies from April 30 to May 16.

I think Doe Doe has hit the nail right on the head as far as the naming of stands at the New Windsor Park Stadium is concerned. In my mind ,at this moment only Billy Doctrove warrants a stand in his name as he has represented Dominica at the highest level, consistently well.Look at the other grounds in the world and tell me the persons who have had stands named in their honour.Do you see persons who have represented over 5 and 6 matches.NEVER.
Lets be patient and not do something that will belittle Windsor Park. Billy Doctrove is a credit to Dominica ,Windward Islands and the West Indies and deserves that recognition.

Mr. Doctrove continues to do, not only himself proud but the entire nation.Keep up the great work brother.When I hear of the names being submitted to have stands named after them at the Windsor Park Stadium I just have a good laugh . Doctrove by FAR out shines all those names as he is the only one who has EXCELLED in his field and his name should take pride of place in this venture. A person just representing Dominica or the West Indies is not enough ,,,He has to excell as is the case of persons who have stands named after them in the other territories.
DO NOT undervalue Windsor Park by just rushing and name stands after all “Tom, Dick and Harry” .
They must deserve it and Doctrove sure does …a true Ambassador that we should all be proud of .
He is definetly one of the top 3 Umpires in the World at present…..Keep going.
