Lennard and Anselm St. Bernard of Grandbay have won the White Oak Regional Dominoes Pairs Competition which was held in Dominica on Saturday September 29.
The St. Bernard brothers beat domino pairs from Grenada and St. Vincent to take the coveted grand prize of EC$10,000.00.
They defeated St. Vincent by 4 sets to 1 in the final by 4 sets to 3 on their way to the deciding game against St. Vincent.
In addition to their $10,000.00 prize, the champions also received 2 cases of White Oak Rum and a trophy.
The St. Bernard’s had earned their place in the regional competition by winning the Dominica leg of the White Oak Rum Domino Pairs Competition two weeks ago.

Dominoes is a very popular game–even among people who don’t understand a thing about the game.
I am a great lover of Dominoes myself–in his young days his fellow players called my dad, the Sobers of Domino. I surely know how to win a game or two–even to give my opponents a “love”, not guys like those two from Grandbay, here.

Congratulations Bros!! These guys have been at it for a long time and are being consistent. They also love cricket dearly. Anselm would sometimes cry when he lost a cricket game. Played together for Dawbiney House and DGS under 16 and also our local club at Grand Coulibre, (Bordeaux). Traveled on Garner together and had our share of conflicts. Nice seeing your names in the news for a positive effort. Hold on Bro!!

I’ve been friends with Anselm and Lennard going back to before our days at DGS, when I lived in Hagley. They taught me to play dominoes. I went astray at some point, but they’ve continued. I’m very happy for them. Congratulations, my friends.
