Lagoon are three-times domino champs

Lagoon have made it a three-peat in what has been described as the biggest domino competition in Dominica for 2013.

In one of the most gripping finals in front hundreds of domino fans the Lagoon boys kept their cool to beat Rockers from Paix Bouche by 125 points; scores: Lagoon 4007, Rockers 3872.

Fans cheered both teams on as the game move to the last 500 points, but in the end two late ‘loves’ by the Lagoon team security victory for them and had their fans going wild. In the match for 3rd place, Mount Zion destroyed Smarts Boys. Scores: Mount Zion 4013, Smart Boys 3045.

In the prize giving ceremony after the match, league sponsor H.H.V Whitchurch representative, Melisha Davis, said that her company was grateful to be part of the Mackeson Stout and Carib Beer competition.

Coordinator of the league, Delvin Esprit called for the formation of a national association to organize domino in Dominica and urged all teams captain to come together to form the new association.

Rickey Toussaint and Eyan Robert received the prize for most points 18,090. Point Strikers  from Trafalgar received the award for the most disciplined team.

League winners Lagoon, runner-up Rockers and third place winners, Mount Zion a trophy, cash prizes and drinks.
