Caribbean to face further fallout from UK passenger tax

Williams

A senior British Airways official has warned Caribbean countries that the region’s tourism sector could be negatively affected from the start of 2012 when airlines will have to account for their emissions of carbon dioxide whenever they fly into the European Union (EU).

British Airways Chief Executive officer Keith Williams addressing the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) inaugural “State of the Industry Conference” said the controversial United Kingdom imposed Airport Passenger Duty (APD) could further impact the tourism market.

As far as I see it, and I maybe wrong in my point of view, but the govts of the world are facing a financial crisis. They have set expenses they have to meet and less business and industry to generate the much needed money from. The fastest way to make money is to raise taxes for revenue.
This why I support going green. Dominica is rich in natural resources, which I believe will make us highly valued in the future. We just have to learn to manufacture, market and manage it. This will make us more self sufficient and less dependent on important subjecting us to these higher taxes.

I think people should only travel nowadays only for business. Everyone will have to create and facilitate some kind of vacation spot in their own country, because the world economy is not getting better fast enough, and yet the authorities expect you to pay out large sums of monies for everything these days. Where are we supposed to get the money?

Don’t you understand. The idea is to bankrupt everyone and take their standard of living even lower to an impoverished state. Then the govt. will say that it will take care of you in your dependent state. There is a price to pay for that and it called no more freedom.
The objective is to tax everyone to death. Be very careful of who you put in office and who they are serving.
