The Tropical Storm Warning has been discontinued for Dominica.

According to the Met Office, at 5pm, the center of tropical storm Chantal was located near latitude 15.2N, longitude 63.7W or about 150 miles west of Dominica.

The storm was moving towards the west northwest near 26 mph. The advisory stated that based on the forecast track, the center of Chantal would continue to move away from the Lesser Antilles tonight.

Chantal packed maximum sustained winds near 65 mph with higher gusts and is expected to be near hurricane strength before reaching Hispaniola.

The Met office said that Chantal will continue to spread isolated pockets of showers, isolated thunderstorms and occasional gusty winds across the island with a gradual reduction in the activity into tonight.

Sea conditions will remain moderate to rough with swells peaking near 3.0 meters (10.0 feet)

Met Officials urge residents to continue to exercise “extreme caution” in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks.

Thank u Lord. Just because we were speared the wrath of this hurricane, we should forget God and go back to our old ways. This maybe a test from God. Remember her created Heaven and Earth. Even though some might not believe in God, just look at the universe and just wonder.

Hurricane season just started. Don’t take anything for granted. Love and Pray.
