The President’s Christmas message was basically empty, uninspiring and partisan. Apart from the promise of more houses to be built and completed, the script revealed nothing of worth. This was most likely written by a diehard DLP operative. How can this man speak about working together when the government’s policies are deliberately designed to cause division, deprivation, separation and the marginalization of electors who cannot, with a fair conscience, support those in power? The government is presently engaged in Santa Claus politics to gain favor with the electorate. I sincerely hope the majority of Dominicans remember the financial embarrassment, the hunger pangs and the appalling misery that they have endured for the last eighteen (18) thorny years.
Yes Mr. President. You have right put that “Crystal Ball” in front of you. YOU ALONE seeing a bright future in that Ball/Speech.
Savarin is a damn disgrace to Dominica and as such Christmas message from him will never be welcomed. He is the main reason for the fall of Dominica going back to 1978 to this present day and no matter what he says, as long as he is the president and Roosevelt Skerrit is Prime Minister Dominica will continue to have more bad days ahead.
One wished that the President was not a partisan person and could have addressed the fundamental issues of bad governance in Dominica rather than reading a DLP government achievement report.
So true! It’s impossible to escape that constant labour propaganda. If that man had a decent bone in his body he would keep quiet instead of selling us this nonsense.
I am sorry, but I am just not happy with this Christmas message. It was read like a script prepared two Christmas` ago. In addition to the President mentioning the two major hurricanes that hit us in the past three years Erica & Maria, Savarin forgot the worse one that is still hitting us, which is the current Bobol, Horrific Hurricane Labour Government, and guided by a failed Prime Mininister Skerrit, who after 18 years has brought no socio-economic development to Domininca. Savarin`s address made no mention of our suffering people, nor the incompetence of the failure of Skerrit corrupt Labour Government. That Corrupt Government has devasted Domininca over 18 years and these guys receive their big salaries and perks from we the civil servants and poor people who pay taxes. But yet we still hear of “something happening” and no one sees it but feels the poverty, lack of jobs and suffering in their homes and villages with no jobs and prospects. So Skerrit must Go.Savarin try again…
Sorry, was not prepared to listen to this of Savarin at this point, will do later. However, I wanted to see the script printed out like Hon Linton`s message. That we can read, comprehend thoroughly and then to critic. Hon Linton`s message is academic, convenient, reflects the state of our Domininca and what needs to be done. Every school from Primary school, secondary school and the Domininca States College must read and save as a reference for further comparative study. This is extended to all Parents, teachers and Civil Servants and our Dominicans overseas
