WEATHER UPDATE: Tropical wave causes showers and thunderstorms

A westward moving tropical wave is expected to generate an increase in cloudiness, showers and possible thunderstorm activity across the island chain during the next 24 hours.

Breezy and hazy conditions will also be evident.

Persons in areas prone to flooding, landslide and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution.

Meanwhile, another tropical wave located in the Eastern Tropical Atlantic is expected to approach the area by Friday. The progress of this wave should be monitored as development is expected.

Please note that a greater degree of cloudiness, more frequent rainfall and higher rainfall amounts are normally experienced across the east coast and interior of Dominica.

Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 hours with waves peaking near 7.0 feet. All users of the sea, particularly on the eastern coast, should exercise caution.
