OFFICIAL DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT: Bernard ‘Francois’ Barrie Former Member of Parliament

We announce the death of Bernard “Francois” Barrie, age seventy-nine (79) years of Salybia in the Kalinago Territory.  He died on Sunday, 3rd September, 2023.

He was a former Parliamentary Representative for the Salybia Constituency and Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education from 1995 – 2000. He was a former teacher, avid sports man, cricket historian, cricket selector and Justice of Peace.

 

HE IS SURVIVED BY:

 

HIS WIFE:                                       Mildred Barrie

 

THREE SONS:                                 Brinsley in Canada, Leslie in the USA and Paul in Dominica

 

TWO DAUGHTERS:                        Berthia in Antigua and Judith in Dominica

 

ONE ADOPTED SON:                     Vivian Thomas in St. Kitts

 

FOUR GRANDCHILDREN:             Jean Phillip Barrie in Trinidad, Fitz J and Dazzle Barrie in Dominica and Kingston Barrie in the USA.

 

DAUGHTERS IN LAW:                 Rackael in Canada, Kelly in the USA and Carol in Dominica

 

ONE BROTHER:                            Melchur Williams in Crayfish River

 

TWO SISTERS:                             Celina Burton in Crayfish River and Gertrude Robin in Woodford Hill

 

FIVE SISTERS IN LAW:                Clarencia Sanford, Eulalie Burton and Milizza St. Amie in Dominica, Antonia Edwards in St. Croix and Victoria Burton in Guadeloupe.

 

SIX BROTHERS IN LAW             Napoleon Sanford, David Burton, Lennox St. Amie, Leroy Robin and Stuart Burton in Dominica and Johnny Wall in Trinidad.

ONE UNCLE IN LAW:                 Luke Alexander

 

NIECES INCLUDING:                  Marcia, Davina, Rosemund and Barbara Burton, Loreen Belle, Susan and Mauricia Sanford, Maria Mitchel, Laurel Brown, June Williams and Claudia Thomas in Guadeloupe.

The body of the late Bernard ‘Francois’ Barrie will be transported by the North Eastern Funeral Association to theSalybia Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, 21st September, 2023 for viewing from 1:30 p.m.   The funeral service begins at t 3:00 p.m. followed by internment at the Salybia Catholic Cemetery.

The Official Funeral Service for the late Bernard ‘Francois’ Barrie will be streamed Live via GIS, DBS Radio and Government of Dominica social media.
