Tourism Minister Denise Charles-Pemberton has announced that American Airlines will offer daily flights to Dominica from June 5 to August 5, this year.
“I am pleased to announce exciting news on air access into Dominica for summer, Christmas, the World Creole Music Festival, and of course, Carnival 2025,” she said. “American Airlines is offering daily flights from June 5 to August 5, which means it will be easier than ever to visit home this summer.”
Additionally, she said after fruitful discussions last month, American Airlines has also further agreed to offer non-stop flights from October 7 to March 31, instead of November 5 as previously announced.
“This is certainly fantastic news and I thank the American Airlines team for their confidence in our destination,” she stated.
According to Charles-Pemberton, her ministry continues to maintain its relationship with airline partners, “as we seek to have more non-stop and same day travel to Dominica.”
To sustain these daily flights, she appealed to the accommodation sector to offer attractive packages to guests who want to travel for the summer, winter, and during the country’s festivals.
“Also, I want to commend WinAir, InterCaribbean, and Caribbean Airlines for partnering with us to offer attractive fares for Jazz N’ Creole Festival this year,” Charles-Pemberton stated.
She urged Dominicans both near and far as well as visitors around the world, “who want to visit our highly acclaimed sites and attractions,” to take advantage of these direct flights.
“Whether you are coming for adventure, business, reunion, vacation, or for the Creole Festival secure your seats now,” she noted.
How much is the guarantee that is to be paid the AA? The guarantee assures them that they will make a minimum profit even if they land with an empty plane.
No mention of where (in the United States?) they will be flying out of?
Miami (MIA).
Travel on AA via Miami is not practical. The flight is too early, connection window is very small, causing you to miss your connection almost EVERY time. By the time you calculate the cost of the ticket plus the layover costs when you miss your connection it’s pointless. I get to Dominica faster by flying to Trinidad or Puerto Rico on different airlines. It’s also a LOT cheaper.
What is it she talking about ,it is costing us who travel to dominica frequently an arm and a leg to get there, it is cheaper to fly to any part of caribbean than to Dominica. You smiling and stretching your vains in your neck like is somthing you do for dominican’s who want to come home, the 1400 hundred dollars i will take to travel to dominica plus pocket money, i will take the same amount and travel to Europe and know plenty country ,so your excitement is for people that dont know better.
Keep on fooling those fools that support all you all BS in Dominica. I know what am talking about because i do alot of traveling the currency exchange is number one in dominica its crazy, you go to am ATM is troblem , you can not change more that two hundred US dollars a day in dominica, make it worse if you hav’nt got an account with them ,unless they change that, people will go to where they havnt got those troblem.
Buy your plane, walk with your ATM, make your own currency or better yet just stay away we need to reduce the number of poor people coming to this country.
I agree she should have negotiated a better, more cost-effective solution before beating chest, but it’s not just her. No matter her negotiating skills these people talk down to our folks. They go as far as making it cheaper to go all the way to Australia. However, it only takes a few more bucks, go visit Africa.
why only 2 months?
Great negotiators, you doe see what her buddy Vince negotiated for electricity, after his predecessor Crispin had it all put together? He will be 75-80 years, almost 100years old before we get the electrical plant back from foreigners he gave it to as a solution?
The more flights in and out of the country on a daily basis should be a commendable effort. However, with this administration, it over promises and under delivers. This opaque regime is also always short on facts.
What is the full arrangement with this particular airline? How much does the government have to pay out from the treasury for empty seats?
I wish the organisers well. Hope that the Creole Music Festival will be an overwhelming success for the good of the country.
Thank you Madam Minister.Thank you Prime Minister.Thank you Dominica Labour Party.Through the blood, sweat and tears of supporters of the Dominica Labour Party OUR(not UWP) country is on the world map.It is easier for the DOGG and pimp living on FIGUEROA street in Los Angeles to visit Dominica
