Elizabeth, this might prove to you that I do not exaggerate things.Are we hearing that there are 727 (seven hundred and twenty-seven cases of COVID-19) on the island?
If that’s the case, I wonder how many cases of the Delta Variant infected are among the infected!
I am sure that the total amount of people infected are in the thousands; believe it or not; nevertheless, some idiot is still talking about rapid antigen test.
Rapid antigen test cannot save life; it will only help to identify more cases of the infected!
Right now if the politicians of Dominica wish to have a majority of people still alive to hold an election; their only; and I mean Roosevelt Skerrit, that damn crook only alternative is to declare mandatory vaccination; and shut down the county period!
His worry is the economy will collapse, nevertheless; if no one is left alive in the country, the economy goes along with the dead too!

I know you have some issues that prevents you from getting information via Radio, and Television news; so it might be difficult for you to understand that more than three (3000) people per day has died from the virus okay!
For you information, in Los Angeles, there were days when there no Morgue accepting dead bodies, they piled into refrigerated trucks outside of hospitals, they did not bury bodies, they cremated which was a quicker process.
Where have you been Elizabeth for the almost two years COVID-19 have been wreaking havoc across Canada, and the United States!

hello dno …with 727 cases of the virus in the country …can you or the ministry of health give the people a breakdown of these numbers by saying how many cases are infected in the villages and towns ?….for i remember when it was grand fond the numbers was there for the whole to see.
I don’t see any other comments under this news article at present time, so I am wondering if Dominicans are still continuing with their blame game nonsense, or if they are out there trying to influence their counterparts who have refused to take the vaccine for all the useless reasons to make up their mind to do so.
The talk about “even if I take the vaccine I can still get infected by the virus” is insignificant and childish.
As I have said before, the vaccine is meant to boost the immune system of those who take it, to help fight against the infection.
Those people who are saying they have faith in God, that He gave them herbs of the Earth to use as medicine, are speaking pure foolishness!
I believe that God gave us herbs of the ground to use as medication and food, but He has appointed His men of the Earth to use those herbs to process the right medicine that is needed for the certain disease, sicknesses, or infections–see more below:
We cannot simply go into our backyard to pick a certain herb and say that we are using it to protect us from the infection of Corvid-19–that is not a stable decision if
people want to save their Life.
But the education of the men of science in this World can point them out to the right herb based on various experiments–that is why they are called scientists.
And it is factual that the vaccine for corvid-19 has saved a lot of lives because fewer and fewer people are getting infected day by day.
We simply have to obey and follow the rules as outlined by the health authorities. In Toronto, all the private shops have signs, on their doors, saying: “No mask no entry”! Who can disobey that rule, if they need the service?
God, God, God! He gave you people a weapon to fight again a deadly virus, how can you all refuse to accept that weapon and speak the foolish thing: “God will same me”. “Faith without works is dead” period!

I don’t get it. How could a country boast of zero covid and in less than no time to 727? Is it a case where we were not testing and as soon as Lennox Linton questioned Skerrit about the $4billion plus dollars that Skerrit could not account for, he went in search of high Covid numbers to justify curfew and fear so he doesn’t answer? Is Skerrit using covid for his political advantage? To me that’s what it looks like
So the ministry has talen WHOs advice and agreed that all positive antigentests be country as positive. What then happens when these persons PCR tests come back negative. Worse scenario they are placed in smelters Where there are positive cases. God help Dominica and Dominicans.

Exactly right. Spot on. This PM always looks for unity and asks not to politicise when he looses control. He should account for the missing CBI money and Dominicans might take him serious again! He lost all credibility right now. The end looks just around the corner…

DNO, I’ve realized some improvement in your articles. Of course, there’s still much room for improvement. I’ve been hard on you at times so I felt compelled to let you know. Keep on trying to improve as this would only redound to the benefit of Dominica. Be impartial, accurate and deal with the issues that are retarding progress. Make some positive suggestions also
Seven hundred and twenty seven (727) active cases. That’s alarmingly high. However, every Dominican should do his/her part to try to ‘buck this trend.’.
I’m hoping that this is taken, by the powers that be, as a teachable moment . Cooperation and inclusion are two critical factors in good governance or in the management of any institution or organization.

The present administration needs to be much more inclusive., accommodating and willing to listen to divergent opinions, views and ideas. Even a broken clock is right twice per day. The opposition parties, business sector, the clergy and members of civil society should be consulted, even if occasionally, particularly in times of a national crisis. All good ideas should be taken onboard regardless of political affiliation, religion, gender or age.

Cautious, that is of course your choice but as to who is fooling who, it’s very clear. Maybe you shouldn’t be a nurse if you don’t believe in science and math. The science says this is a virus with no known cure, mutating constantly to worse versions of itself and – for now – able to be tamed somewhat by vaccination. The math says that on an island with limited resources and low vaccination, it’s only a matter of time till you’re asked to work harder and longer hours than you ever have in your life. If/when that happens, will you be willing to administer treatments that have LESS science backing them than the vaccines already received by hundreds of millions of people?
