Open Letter to the Unvaccinated
You are not alone! As of 28 July 2021, 29% of Canadians have not received a COVID-19 vaccine, and an additional 14% have received one shot. In the US and in the European Union, less than half the population is fully vaccinated, and even in Israel, the “world’s lab” according to Pfizer, one third of people remain completely unvaccinated. Politicians and the media have taken a uniform view, scapegoating the unvaccinated for the troubles that have ensued after eighteen months of fearmongering and lockdowns. Will you all please stay in your private corners with your choice and not mingle with or among those of us who are trying to keep our Life by following the measures that will prevent disastrous health attacks against us?

I see the total number of active cases (203) is higher than the number in GOCD quarantine (183). The statistics reported as of the 7th of August (https://dominicanewsonline.com/news/announcements/covid-statistics-for-dominica-as-of-7th-august-2021/) were 158 total active cases, and 173 in GOCD quarantine. Is there an explanation why there are 20 active cases not in GOCD quarantine?
those in gov’t quarantine are awaiting their test or tests results.
What is happening here should be no surprise to those who observe the happenings and goings on at places like the promenade, parties, sporting events, etc, all over the world, not just in Dominica. It has to happen because people cannot and will not continue to live as they are being asked to do today. If the time spent blaming the un-vaccinated, the vaccinated, the police, the public, the government, the this, the that. If the same amount of time and energy was spent trying to cooperate with each other, and seek out a solution, we would be able to return to some sort of normalcy sooner rather than later.
Correct, but why are so many in Dominica using the word “normalcy”? The correct word is normality.
Health officials, please reverse the order of representing the cases. The red first, yellow second, green third, and the black fourth. In the current manner of representation, it seems like there were more recovered cases than currently infected. Then change Total active cases, to Current active cases.
The manner in which the data is presented a little confusing.
