BBC News reports: California has woken up to news of three mass shootings this week. On Monday, a gunman opened fire at two plant nurseries in Half Moon Bay, killing seven and injuring one person.
A few hours later, another gunman opened fire 41 miles (65km) away at a petrol station in Oakland, injuring seven and killing one person.
Then on Saturday, 11 people who had gathered to dance died on the eve of Lunar New Year in Monterey Park near Los Angeles.
If it feels like these incidents are becoming more frequent in the US, that is because they are.

Hello and good morning my people. Well I can’t believe that both Democrats and Republican administrations goes around the World and lecture other Governments about treating their citizens properly. A mass shooting is when two or more people are shot in a single incident and everyday there are mass shootings in America but they can’t come up with a plan to stop such incidents. The Polititions are receiving campaign donations from the gun manufacturers so they won’t pass laws to curtail the availability of gun in American. The people who are being shot and only important to their families so I will assume that if the politicians or their families were the ones being injured then they would do something about gun within society.
Here are three major pandemic (not COVID) type reasons: Easy access to firearms and ammunition, a proliferation of inciteful rhetoric by political extremists and a worrisome explosion in mental illnesses.
