Education Minister Octavia Alfred has described the late Lordina Mellow-Baron as a “Beacon of Light and Hope.”

Mrs. Mellow-Baron who worked as an educator at the Wesley High School for the past 35 years passed away this week.

“Mrs. Baron was a beacon of light and hope embodying the essence of determination and resilience, qualities which enabled her to face every challenge that came her way from her youth until her final days,” Alfred said.

Alfred’s statements were made on DBS radio this morning

According to her, Mrs. Mellow-Baron leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished and remembered.

“To her colleagues and students both past and present, I say let us honour Mrs. Baron’s memory by embodying the virtue she lived by. Passion, resilience, unwavering faith,” she said.

In the face of adversity, Alfred encourages students and colleagues to remember her strength and determination.

“Let us continue to strive for excellence in education, to nurture and inspire the young minds we are privileged to teach, and to carry forward her legacy of dedication,” she noted.

Furthermore, she mentioned that Mrs. Mellow-Baron wove a fabric of love, learning, and faith that enriched every life she touched.

“Let us cherish her memory by living our lives with purpose and a steadfast commitment to making a positive difference in the world,” Alfred encouraged.

rest in peace Lordina. I remember hery days as young high school student while she was senior at Wesley High School and me at Convent wen walked from Roseau during the construction of the road and major landslide.

She taught me and the younger students how to stride along to walk “fast” and feel less tiring . She was a Christian.

my condolences to her family friends.

They do at the teachers rallys.. Do you attend?
Why don’t you encourage the parents to be more appreciative of the teachers in the classroom, instead of being defensive with their badly brought up rugrats..
