Father Charles Martin has died

Roman Catholic Priest Fr. Charles Martin has died.

Sources told Dominica News Online (DNO) that he passed away today.

“Today I lost a friend, a prayer warrior, my priest-someone who loved Dominica, his homeland and with deep-seated love and passion,” Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit said in a Facebook post.

He continued, “We have lost a Fr. Charles Martin, but heaven will be fortunate to have him.”

Skerrit added, “May his soul rest in peace.”

The late Fr. Charles was ordained as a priest on August 18, 1985. He has been a Roman Catholic Priest for 39 years.

Fr. Charles faithfully served as the Dean of the Cathedral from 2008 to 2017 and then as Parish Priest of St. Alphonsus from 2017 until his death. His dedication to the Church and his service to God were an inspiration to all who knew him.

DNO extends condolences to his family, friends, loved ones, the parishioners he served, and the entire Catholic community.
