Government condoles with Dr. McIntyre on the passing of his wife

The Government of Dominica extends condolences to Minister for Finance, Economic Development, Climate Resilience and Social Security, Dr. Irving McIntyre on the passing of his wife Akinyi McIntyre.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced through a Facebook post on Thursday that Mrs. McIntyre passed away earlier that morning after prolonged illness.

“I express heartfelt sympathies to Akinyi McIntyre’s children and her extended family and wish them peace and comfort in this moment of loss. Please know that you have my full support during this difficult time,” he said. “May God bless you and grant you solace.”

Dominica News Online (DNO) also extends deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

    Condolences to Dr. Irvin McIntyre and family on the passing of your beloved Akinyi. May the good Lord grant you comfort and strength during this extremely difficult time.
    It’s hard dealing with any death and at any time, but even worse with the death of your wife (and for the children your mother) during the Christmas season and at the beginning of a new year.
    Our hearts and prayers are with all of you.
