Marigot MP extends condolences to family of late Gerald ‘Gerry’ Aird

Parliamentary Representative for the Marigot Constituency, Anthony Charles, has extended condolences to the family of the late distinguished businessman Gerald ‘Gerry’ Aird, who passed away on July 18, 2025, following a period of illness.

His condolences came during his response to the presentation of an over 1.2 billion-dollar National Budget for the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 on Monday.

“I would like to send some condolences to the Aird family, especially his sons Jason and Damian,” Charles said.

Charles said both he and his parents had a close relationship with Mr. Aird,  “We personally got close, especially when I won the election,” Charles stated.

He continued, “ He was very passionate about good education…”

Charles added, “May his soul rest in peace, may his family live in peace, and I wish them well in their endeavors, especially with their companies.”

The funeral service is scheduled for 2 PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Roseau Cathedral, with burial to follow at the Anglican Cemetery.

A National Day of Mourning will be observed on July 29, during which all public buildings’ flags will be flown at half-mast.

    I did not know Mr.Charles had the support of the ELECTED members on the opposition side who did not support the government.
