Police investigate two recent homicides

Everton Sabin of Bath Estate- victim of homicide at Elmshall over the weekend

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively investigating two homicides over the weekend.

According to reports, one of the incidents occurred on Friday, March 13,  2026, at Roseau where  Rasaan Griffith 32-year-old male of Goodwill/Pottersville, was met lying motionless on King’s Lane and taken to Dominica-China Friendship Hospital (DCFH) for medical attention, where he was subsequently declared dead.

Initial investigation revealed that he allegedly sustained a single stab wound. Police are seeking one male individual regarding the circumstances of that homicide.

Meanwhile, investigation is ongoing into the death of Everton Sabin of Bath Estate.

Police reports indicate that Sabin was found lying on the ground at Elmshall with serious injuries and taken to the DCFH for medical attention, where he succumbed to his injuries the next day, Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Donald Michael Dorival, an adult male of Elmshall, has been arrested on suspicion and is assisting the police with their investigation into the matter.

Police have confirmed that Dominica has recorded a total of four homicides this year so far. Three incidents involved a physical altercation between the victims and the accused, and one was gun-related.

Suspects/accused have been identified in all cases except one, who is still at large.

Capital punishment is always an option.

Society is getting worse. That is the way of the world wherever you go.

Dominica can grow a backbone and prevent itself suffering a very ugly decline or it can carry on.

Why these disparaging names for these unfortunate people. Despite their present unpleasant situation they are still human beings who need assistance instead of derision.

Many of these people can be rehabilitated. They just need a proper place of abode, the necessary medical assistance, nutritious meals and love and care to build their self esteem.

God gave us two hands: One to help ourselves, the second to help others.

Nicely chosen words from a devout hypocrite, I pray for those who would be fooled by your vain and pretentious flourishes to see the light as I have over the years of reluctantly reading your many contradictory statements that you plaster over nearly every article.

You are the same person who judges others by the most superficial context while aggrandizing yourself.

To keep calling God in your statements you only calling down more judgement for yourself.

You never really repent (or genuinely apologize) just pretend to do better and do some PR. As long as personalities like yours hold sway our country and the world will always drift towards hell while thinking “I wonder why the temperature is getting so hot”

My heart goes out to the families and friends of those murdered over the weekend.
But alas, the country is gone as Skerrit has destroyed it from top to bottom with his corruption and greed. The people are always angry and it doesn’t take much for them to pass their rage on someone.
But our hope for turning this country around lies in us. We should have removed this Evil man from office long time, especially if we are Bible believing and God fearing people as we claim. Proverbs 29 :2 is clear and this passage in particular should be read every sabbath and Sunday worship
“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.‘

What we now have passing as government is very wicked, very evil and very ungodly; no wonder we always in mourning

Deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. When one loses a family member prematurely because of uncontrollable rage of another, the pain and grief tend to be inconsolable.

We cannot pray away crime. Stringent measures must be put in place to curb this scourge. Too many mentally ill vagrants on the streets, too many illegal firearms, too much hunger, despair and hopelessness. Those are fertile grounds for violence and crime.

Governor policies should be geared towards the uplift ment of people. Instead of focusing on concrete and steel, government should be concentrating on a people’s first agenda. These should include but not limited to rehabilitation centers, good paying sustainable employment, state of the art healthcare, food security, and apolitical police force. a fair justice system.

The “parroes” of yesteryear were more of a nussauince to themselves than to society at large. Today; however, these “MUGS” and pariahs are becoming more brazingly dangerous to our entire populace.

In a relatively small country like Dominica there are very few places for law abiding citizens to run or hide. The sea is definitely not an option. As such, our law enforcers need to put the cabash on those outlaws who think it nothing to snuff out another’s life. Unlike the Elmer J. Fudds of our society, many do not own a mansion surronded by guards and high walls or or even a yacht where we can hide.
