There was much wailing in Vieux-Fort, Saint Lucia yesterday afternoon after three residents of Bruceville were shot dead in separate incidents.
The victims, two males and one female, had their lives snuffed out in full view of the public.
The first incident occurred at the Vieux-Fort Fisheries Complex sometime after 4 pm, when a man identified as Delon was shot dead at the canteen in the complex.

When the St.Lucian police declared war on the drug dealers and murderers the USA sanctioned the police The USA called the police killings extrajudicial killings and they refused to give the police US visas.Today crimes and criminal activities have taken over St.Lucia.Where is the USA?
The US is quick to meddle in other people’s business, not that they really care about the people in whose business they meddle. That is why a lot of countries ditched the US for China because as far as the Chinese are concerned, what you do is your business.
The US gets all up in a tizzy when the perceive other countries meddling in their business, but have no trouble doing the same REGULARLY.
Very, very unfortunate.
Now I’m on the lookout to see if Black Lives Matter (US/Global), Black Lives Matter (the Dominica branch or those Dominicans that like to where Black Lives Matter shirts & other memorabilia) and Black Lives Matter (the St Lucia branch if one exists there) put out press releases strongly condemning these black-on-black crimes as well as announcing the dates for protest actions against black-on-black killings.
Black Lives ought to Matter as well when blacks kill blacks……….right???
It is everyday in St. Lucia and everyday in all the other islands. It is time to bring back the death penalty and have it enforced. It is the only way to stop all that bloodshed or have these thugs face a firing squad or have their head chopped off by a guillotine. Case closed.
What evidence do you have to prove having the death penalty on the books reduces the homicide rate? If that were the case Texas, Florida, Louisiana and a host of other Southern US states would be homicide-free.
Who cares if it is not a deterrent? If that is the way they want to die, then, we will enforce the death penalty. Murder is punishable by hanging and that is the bottom line. What sense does it make putting them in jail, either? The crimes still go on. Get rid of them. I have no use for them in society.
Successive administrations in St. Lucia seem to be clueless and helpless in solving this decades’ old problem of crime. This very problem was mostly responsible for bringing down the Kenny Anthony, Allan Chastanet administrations.
This recent incident should be shocking but I’m not surprised at all. Look at the number of homicides in St. Lucia for the past fifteen consecutive years. Too many citizens have met an early grave by the frequent shootings.
However, this heightened climb in homicides is not just endemic in St. Lucia but rapidly engulfing the Caribbean.
Look at Dominica. This country is now the new version of the Bermuda Triangle/Death Triangle. People are disappearing without a trace never to be found.
I thought you had said that St. Lucia is a much more kinder society than Dominica is. Have you realized that you keep biting your tongue each time? I guess development brings on crimes. Right? That is when the mongoose gangs should come in and stamp out all these thugs and black lives matter.
That is what happens when people live high risk lifestyles.
