STATEMENT: Bishop Kendrick J. Forbes on the death of Pope Francis

Bishop Kendrick J. Forbes

Beloved in Christ, it is with heavy hearts that we join the Universal Church in mourning the death of His Holiness Pope Francis.

Pope Francis died on Easter Monday, the second day of the Octave of Easter, at 7:35 AM. We commend his soul to God, the Father of Mercies, and the God of all consolation. We are grateful to God for the witness of his life and the gift of his papacy.

Pope Francis exercised the Petrine Office in fidelity to the example of Christ, the Good Shepherd. He was a man of humility and compassion and has left a record of advocacy on behalf of the poor, the forgotten, the marginalized and the weak. He modeled strength in simplicity.

Pope Francis was a constant voice urging nations and peoples to foster peace. In his Apostolic Blessing on Easter Sunday, the day before he died, Pope Francis once again called for peace; “The light of Easter impels us to break down the barriers that create division and are fraught with grave political and economic consequences. It impels us to care for one another, to increase our mutual solidarity, and to work for the integral development of each human person.”

Pope Francis was a cultivator of the seeds of the Gospel and a tireless missionary disciple. His life radiated with the joy of the Gospel. He was a true pilgrim of hope, holding firm to the hope that does not disappoint.

May the witness of his faith be an inspiration to us all and may the Easter faith of the Church, be our source of consolation and comfort.

May He Rest in peace.

My brothers and sisters, let us pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit during this time of grief and transition in the Church.

In Christ,
Most Reverend Kendrick J. Forbes
Bishop of Roseau

“We commend his soul to God.”
So, let me ask you: who “is” or are we? In the first place there in no place in the Bible where the word pop, pontiff, which simply means papa can be found!
And this thing about committing his soul to God, totally nonsense; sweet sounding nonsense. Every man woman have opportunity to come into the knowledge of God, when we do our priority is to pray directly to God for forgiveness, accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior!
Once we accept Jesus Christ, we are in his power he has control over Body Soul and Spirit. The Bible teaches “to be absent from the body is to present with the Lord. That is instant; instantly: so when I die as a believer in Jesus, my soul and spirit exist my body, is immediately in the presence of God, how can you be professing that you; “we commit his soul to God?”
If he had not accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord, confessing his sins and ask forgiveness, we know his body returns to dirt Saturday, where is his soul and spirit

What’s that supposed to mean? Black peoples shouldn’t recognize the life of a white human being? If so, why should white peoples recognize that of a black? Isn’t that what we are tirelessly fighting? That we should live in a colorblind society. “A society that doesn’t judge base on the color of skin but on the content of character?”

There will never be a colorblind society as long as humans exist! You see every ethnicity owes their life to black people!
Anyone denying or rejecting that fact would be denying the creation of Adam and Eave, the two first humans created by God.
Now the first case of discrimination to my knowledge is found in the Bible!
We know that Moses was married to a Black woman, and when certain members of Moses family spoke about her, disapproving the marriage: What did God do?
Well, I believe we will find that in the book of Genesis, God caused her, the one who disapproved Moses wife to become infected with leapercy.
Her skin became as white as snow: Moses prayed to God to restore her natural color of her skin which he did.
You see pigmentation is only skin deep it’s all due to the contents of melanin in the individual epidermis; in that case one should only see people, and not the color of one epidermis which is the largest organ of the human body!
