Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit earlier this evening announced his new Cabinet of Ministers and associated Parliamentary Secretaries following the Dominica Labour Party’s victory in the Dec 6 general elections.

It is my intention, at the first sitting of Parliament, to nominate Mr. Joseph Issac to serve, for a second term, as The Honorable Speaker in the House of Assembly.
Senator Phillip Rolle will also be nominated as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
The fifth Government Senator in the Parliament of Dominica shall be Mr. Austel Lockhart

I was really looking forward to that reset but starting all over again is gonna be tough especially with all the old heads being brought back in newly created roles. The big government for a country of 70,000 people just got so much bigger with old ministers as special advisers to new ministers, and so many more appointments not listed here. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit really and truly takes Dominicans for fools, and maybe we are because we tolerate this nonsense at our expense! Even Ambassador A makes a comeback to the US/ UN!

Under the new shift of ministers we have, amongst others:
An engineer doing Health, an accountant doing Engineering, a general medical practitioner doing Finance and a school teacher doing Investment and Governance.

This snap election is a disaster on its face. How do you stat anew with beginners (kindergarten) who doesn’t know anything and want to take Dominica to a new height? You hard old diehards lazy bums in the labor who didn’t help the country except their own supporters; how is it you expect those new comers, who themselves want to enrich themselves to do the best for the people? This thought is already taking a toll on Skeritt because he had already given the new comers warning to produce – which of course is trash talk. But Dominica will go backwards, not forward. Mark my words, people. I see at least two new members leaving the labor party in less than a year. Look out for that. It’s not easy in that Red party. Some have said that they’d rather a “Natural Funeral” that a State.

No, the PM never indicated that the reason for the election was to replace anyone in particular.
The thing is, Blackmore knows where most of the skeletons are hidden. The same goes for Austrie, Douglas and Darroux. Skerrits has to keep all that lot ‘happy’. But he also had to surround himself with new corrupt blood that sing his tune but don’t have anything in their hands that could really threaten Skerrits future. Everything this man does has a reason. Laville why are you allow a man that’s so much less educated, intelligent with little or no academic accolades, to reduce your professional character to nothing. This is so embarrassing a young intelligent man with a Masters in Engineering, reducing you to a ministry you basically not trained for and giving his wife the housing ministry, and another man with absolutely no experience in public works. I figure you guys are making this man reduce you all professionals to nothing. There are 2 medical doctors there why can’t one of them get health. As far as I’m concerned you can represent your constituency without a ministry. My advice to you young man go and build your business, this is your future and your children future.

Skerrit gave up the ghost. McIntyre is the new Finance Minister without funds. Garcon look pappy show in Dominica. Ian told me there is no money in the Treasury.
Well, dr.McIntyre had a choice and could have refused this position and keep on working as a medical doctor, which he is qualified for. Now he is a convenient scapegoat, somebody to blame if the government finances don’t add up. Oh well, maybe they are sick too and need careful nursing and a band aid but the good doctor is not a financial expert as far as I know. Still, everybody have their price, not so Roosevelt?
