An idiot is someone who is evading the truth or reality that’s set before him/her. I know that many of us would like to change the colour of our skin because of the history of slavery but some of us are not even aware that Africa was the cradle of civilisation. Africa is the richest continent and that’s why the Europeans do not want to leave. Do you know about the Berlin conference? Go and do some research so your mind can be quickened about your ancestors’ story and your mindset can change for the better.
Let us be honest, whether we like it or not, this woman, Asa Banton, Roosevelt Skerrit and Melissa Poponne-Skerrit are the perfect representation of Dominicans today, truth be told Dominicans have been dumbed-down!
You all think this lady appearance is bad, did you all listen to the government ministers and the Speaker of the House of Assembly in the Budget debate in Parliament a few weeks ago? Please refrain from using the words “African women” to describe these women. If they had any respect for their heritage, they would not dress this way. How many African women dress this way????

I am Dominican by birth, but you all surely did not represent me in Toronto. It’s sickening to me why grown ladies in particular would expose themselves so indecently in skimpy outfits that reveal their not too attractive figures. Be examples to the younger ladies/females!! Children tell your mums to clothe themselves properly/decently. Mums do the same to the children, both male and female. Sorry to all the Carnival revellers and lovers, but i’m not impressed!
I agree a hundred percent. It is a disgrace that our African/black women, who should set an example to children are out there on the world’s stage exposing their bodies, thinking that they are cute. Our ancestors must be turning in their graves because they were role models for us. Today, decency is thrown out of the window and this is the crap that we have to deal with. Shame, shame, shame. What makes it worse is that many of our men support that nonesense.

@South City, I have been to North Africa twice on holidays and once on military duty and I didn’t meet my grandparents but in Dominica that is my No1 home I am not confused, I for sure know where am coming from and a proud Dominican citizen good bye now.

We are ascendants of the Africans who were made to be slaves in the Caribbean. Are you ashamed of your African-ness? The other races are not but once it comes to the real deal, we disassociate ourselves from Africa. There’s a lot to be learnt. The Europeans have painted Africa with all their negative adjectives and so we are ashamed to identify ourselves as an African race.
