In observance of International Men’s Day, BPW (Business and Professional Women) Dominica held a heartfelt and impactful ceremony on the evening of November 19 at the Public Service Union (PSU) headquarters. A media release from the organization said the event was a special tribute, a day set aside to honor the vital roles men play throughout the Commonwealth of Dominica. To mark this occasion, the organization launched an “Homage to Men,” a tribute that recognized nineteen outstanding men from the local community for their exceptional service and leadership.

The organization shared that the evening’s focus was to spotlight the diverse and integral responsibilities that men fulfill in society, adding that men are traditionally recognized as the primary heads of their households, providing guidance, stability, and resilience to their families. Beyond the home, the group said the ceremony celebrated “men’s leadership roles across various sectors of national life.”

This inaugural “Homage to Men” marks a new tradition for BPW Dominica, reflecting their strong commitment to making this recognition an annual event. The organization believes that honoring the positive impact of men is vital for cultivating a community rooted in respect and appreciation. Through this yearly tribute, BPW Dominica aims to acknowledge the often-overlooked heroes who propel progress and serve as inspiring role models for the younger generation.

BPW Dominica said it remains dedicated to ensuring that International Men’s Day continues to be a meaningful occasion to celebrate leaders, mentors, and pillars of strength that uphold families, communities, and the nation.
