The Antigua and Barbuda Government has named Hollywood star Angela Bassett as one of its latest Tourism Ambassadors.
Dawn Lewis, another actress, was also named as an ambassador.
Both women are now responsible for promoting the destination.
Basset, according to Chief of Staff in the Office of the Prime Minister, Lionel Hurst, has shown her love for Antigua by visiting frequently and using her star power that has been earned by being featured in scores of movies.
The government said their appointments are voluntary, do not involve any remuneration and they have agreed to make appearances on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda.
The movie stars are both currently in Antigua to participate in Sailing Week and in the entertainment events that form part of the week-long activities.
They met with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and other tourism officials.
The stars also traveled to Barbuda during their stay in Antigua.
Just because Bassett took a picture with you does not mean they all in the picture are your friends!
If you were such good acquaintance or friend to Angela after you probably lied about her been appointed tourism ambassador, she would not have slapped you with a cease and desist letter.
Bassett is a Caribbean name too, but she might not want to become involved in Antigua’s politics, and that is what your intentions might have been!/

Not much longer Dominicans can expect Lin ‘Dimwitted’ Clown, Man Eating Dog Flesh, Dog Stool (ds), Fake Putin and Gary Ignoramus receiving their credentials from Roosevelt as ambassadors at large.
Antigua is way ahead of Dominica in many many aspects, despite Gaston Brown’s many shortcomings.
In Dominica we were told that it’s a secret who our ambassadors are. 99% of the time, we get to know only when those rascals like NG Lapseng, Ali Reza Zibahalat Monfared, Alison Diazani Madueke, Francesco Corolla, etc, are caught…..Shady dealings????
I must congratulate St Lucia though, for making their track and field sprint queen Julien Alfred an ambassador though she is still at college. WELL DONE ST LUCIA!!!
I wonder if this government made Ali Reza Monfared, Alison Madueke & Justin Sun our ambassadors?
