The Invest Dominica Authority (IDA) recently conducted an Investment Promotion Mission to Martinique on July 1 and 2, 2024, in collaboration with the Collectivité Territoriale de Martinique (CTM) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Martinique (CCI Martinique). According to an issued statement, the mission aimed to explore new business opportunities, strengthen trade relations, promote investment opportunities, and enhance business ties between Dominica and Martinique. The delegation, consisting of local businesses with export-ready potential, engaged in presentations to the French business community, strategic B2B meetings, networking sessions, and visits to explore potential collaborations and investments.
Dominica’s unique offerings in pharmaceuticals, essential oils, spices, and agribusiness were showcased. Discussions were held with firms interested in aquaculture, product distribution, technological solutions, construction, cosmetics manufacturing and distribution, and marine services. Additionally, six (6) press engagements, including radio and television interviews, and multiple site visits, including the Martinique Agro-Resources and Research Center, were conducted to explore product testing and development opportunities.
With over fifty (50) entrepreneurs attending investment opportunity presentations, forty (40) B2B meetings facilitated by IDA, and twenty-five (25) B2B meetings conducted by Dominican business delegates the mission was deemed successful.
