Let me comment on the term “sleep deprivation.’ one have to be careful when we get into terms associated with medicine, which relates to psychology, and neurological issues. In simple understanding the term sleep deprivation means getting less than (>) the needed amount of sleep which, for adults ranges from seven to nine hours of sleep per night: children and teens need plenty more.
All definitions of sleep deprivation are not always the same; because in sleep medicine, sleep deprivation is defined based on sleep duration, which is the total amount of time an individual spends asleep.
And so, the terms sleep deficiency or sleep insufficiency are more frequently used to describe factors that reduce the amount, and and quality of sleep that keep someone from waking up refreshed. If we get into psychology, and science of the mind and behavior; we find other sleep disorders.

Many individuals get into bed, and fall asleep, and have a restful night; for others, the night is not very restful, as they sleepwalk, or sleep-talk all night, they nightmares, or night terrors, hence they want to sleep much of the day, or have breathing problems while they sleep.
Then again one may be dealing with insomnia which is a common sleep disorder; simply term; the inability to sleep. Insomnia may involve a problem in falling asleep, or waking up during the night, or waking up too early in the morning.
Some people might be dealing serious problems of somnambulism; so I don’t think one can simply zero in on sleep deprivation, the problem in Dominica, is simply a matter of driving while inebriated (drunken); speeding to show off, showing people how fast they drive!
I didn’t read, or listen to anything Roosevelt talked about; but, be warned if the word sleep deprivation are one of his quotes, he is simply trying to impress he is doctor Roosevelt!

I agree with Roosevelt that there is too much carnage on the roads. Much of it is caused by speeding, recklessness, driving drunk and sleep deprivation.
There is a need for a more consistent and a heavier police presence on the streets. More signage and well lit stretches of road should help to prevent some of these accidents and collisions. Every road must be in good condition.
The ruling regime has to do what is needed to mitigate against the unnecessary loss of life on the roads.
Couldn’t have said it any better. I am in full agreement. Albeit, of course, their are those who completely ignore traffic signs and speed limits and traffic lights. More haste, less speed. We will all get to where we are heading to if we all drive carefully. The life you save might just be yours.

Mr. Prime Minister why should a journalist have to ask you for the figures from CBI passport sales revenue that you need to ask the Financial Secretary for? Why are those figure not published openly for transperency every year and then no one would have to question you on it? Do you understand that PM? Sakway toneh!
The international airport was a Fata Morgana from day dot. The truth of the matter is that Skerrit hasn’t got the money after he squandered most of the CBI money and the savings chest. Didn’t he state 2 years ago that he put aside $300 million for the airport. Where is all the money gone?

I listened to a little over thirty minutes of this press conference. I prematurely disengaged due to the long, boring meandering, impertinent answers by Roosevelt.
This guy (Roosevelt) loathes born and bred Dominicans. He blames them for all the country’s woes. His corrupt practices and aristocratic team of shady characters are infallible.
Good paying jobs in Dominica are non-existent. The economy is practically near death. Yet Roosevelt is subtly calling Dominicans lazy. This is to divert attention from the ineptness of his mal-administration. The desperate lack of wherewithal to even subsist is the people’s fault. They live beyond their means. Even to purchase a good mattress is too lofty for the average person.
The fuel shortage on island the ruling regime bears no culpability. It’s all Rubis fault. The inmates are running the asylum.
Roosevelt should review what has occurred in Cyprus recently, as it relates to the crooks to whom the Cyprus government sold passports to in the name of CBI program.
Even the United States government went to Cyprus seized Aircraft’s, and Yacht’s, the European are complain about the dirty money, and are practically refusing to honor the sold passports because these criminals are using them to enter the European countries, since Cyprus is a member of the EU.
The crooks invested plenty of money in Cyprus, one can see it, there are lots of shell companies there, their wealth shows in Cyprus.
All Dominica passport money goes into a one man government pocket and that of the salesmen and women, who are all thieves; Dominica thieves!

Guy, here is the meaning of gas, or crude oil reserve in the ground:

In addition to the knowledge of their existence, these reserves are also accessible and economically viable to extract.
That is not what Roosevelt is running off his mouth about, because we do not have any of such deposits in the ground in Dominica!

I would have thought that the single most important requirement for a Government Minister of an English speaking country would be that that person can fluently communicate in the said language and has a proper command of it. Not so in Dominica!

I listened to him read mostly from a script. It was painful. I asked myself those same questions as you. What good do we expect from these seasoned politicians who not only butcher the English language but are hardly functionally literate.
