Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has announced that he will lead a media tour of the construction site of the much-talked-about international airport this week.
He made the announcement during a press briefing held on Monday.
Earlier this month the public witnessed the arrival of heavy equipment at the Woodbridge Bay Port to begin construction of the airport.
“This week I intend on leading a media tour of the airport site at Wesley,” he said.
The country’s leader continued, “As I have indicated, preparatory work on the international airport is ongoing and we have hit quite a few targets at the site.”
According to him, the development and construction of the airport are within all legal and technical requirements.
“My office will make the necessary arrangements and inform the media shortly of the specifics,” he stated. “I look forward to bringing you and the people of Dominica along for a look at the work we have done so far.”
He pointed out that work is being done in preparing the site and setting the various aspects that will aid in the construction of the airport.
Meanwhile, he said the government has been in touch with owners of equipment.
“They have sent us a proposal and we are facilitating the discussions with the contractor with a view of having those pieces of equipment to be engaged at various times during the construction of the airport,” Prime Minister Skerrit revealed.
A one billion dollar contract between the Government of Dominica and Montreal Management Consultant Establishment (MMCE) has been signed, signaling the official commencement of the construction of the highly anticipated international airport.
The contract signing which took place at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium on June 9, 2021, is a long-awaited dream held in the hearts of citizens for over 50 years.
At the time, the prime minister expressed gratitude to the people of Wesley, Woodford Hill, and Palm Tree who facilitated the construction of the airport in their communities and vowed to the citizens of Dominica, at home and abroad, that nothing and no one will stop his government from building the international airport.

Appears to me that this Montreal Management Consultant Establishment (MMCE) is actually owned or part owned by PM Skerritt. They state their projects as: Housing/Education/Healthcare and Infrastructure (all Dominica). Their mission is all about Dominica. Their partners are: Govt of Dominica; CBI; & China Civil Engineering Consultants to name a few. One telling giveaway is that their address is PO Box 656, Morne Daniel. Doesn’t the PM live in Morne Daniel?

Oh, and the company was established in 2015. So, relatively new to be taking on such a huge project as the building of an International Airport. Again, just my personal thoughts
The plans are flawed.
Extend the length of the taxiway the entire length of the runway. BUILD FOR THE FUTURE, NOT THE PRESENT.

That is because he doesn’t have any plans: Information sent to me said: “Speaking about the geotechnical study; six (624) hundred twenty-four boreholes to be done, of that amount 148 completed in the past year, there are 476 left, twenty (25) test must be conducted on each borehole. They said each single test takes twenty days, it is estimated at this slow rate the geotech drilling will not be completed for three years, at least.
It is only after after that; drawings of a runway will be conducted and submitted to the planning and International Authorities, such as the FAA!
Knowing that the site is not suitable, I don’t believe any international authorities will certify Roosevelt grave to allow flights to touch down on it!

This man Roosevelt is so cunning, he claims that he was going to take the media on a tour of the site; we saw him sitting in a house with an old lady, nevertheless we did not see him hand the lady a title deed nor a deed of trust. Neither did he take the media to Palm Tree where he has a building that can housed offices and approximately six hundred people.
In addition to that there are another eighteen (18) foundations on which homes or houses will be built.
Why has he hidden that part of development on the site at Palm Tree from the media?
Roosevelt Chichi Royer Skerrit is a damn crook, there will never be a International Airport built in Dominica while Roosevelt is prime minister, the airport he proposed he does not even know how much it will cost!
He pulled a shadow figure of one billion dollars out of the air, if there no plans; how can there even be an estimate of cost?
This picture is just an artist impression. Where is the website that I can view the EIA report and the actual airport plans? While you were sitting comfortably as Prime Minister over the past two decades, other Dominicans were educating themselves. Stop the BS.

Roosevelt has a proclivity to ‘show off’. Nothing he likes more than to flaunt his ill-gotten possessions ( luxurious vehicles, tailor-made suits, palatial mansion). Why hasn’t he dangled the EIA, drawings, ect. before the public for scrutiny?
Roosevelt’s words and deeds are always incongruous. A perennial sample of this, is that, every year during the budget sessions, he promises the people Heaven and delivers Hell.

And since you contracted with what I believe to be a shell company to Build a project that might cost more than two billion dollars, give us a copy of their resume, let us see if we can discover where on the planet they build an International Airport before signing with you.

This is all a part of the big CBI money smoke screen. Skerrit and Hayden the big beneficiaries. If you ask me, that airport will never see operational status, like that big sister project they call Geothermal. Has anybody seen any account of this project? All we have s Skerrits statements and we all know what they are worth. These two projects are used by Skerrit to disguise proper accounting for the CBI money. He pretends it’s his own. I bet not one of the ‘Ministers’ is in the know either. Only Austrie, Douglas and Darroux knew and they got a massive golden handshake to go and keep quiet!
