Sea swells cause delays in receipt of goods, including petroleum products

Matthan Walter

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business Trade and Energy has been reliably informed by the major importers of petroleum products gasoline, diesel, and kerosene that sea swells have prevented the loading of products onto their vessels for export to Dominica causing delays in the delivery of petroleum supplies on island.

Director of Trade, Mathan Walter, stated that the Office of Disaster Management has advised that strong winds associated with tropical disturbance AL99, are pushing in relatively large swells towards Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, and other Caribbean islands.

“Regional media reports confirm severe wind and sea conditions have prohibited the landing of petroleum products in several Caribbean destinations. In our sister island of Antigua and Barbuda, there is a shortage of liquid petroleum gas or cooking gas as a result of those sea conditions,” he said in a press statement.

He noted the government of Dominica assures citizens that there are petroleum products including gasoline on island however citizens are urged to be conservative with their purchases as the ministry awaits an estimated time of arrival of the vessel bearing products into Dominica.

“The expectation is that the products will be landed as soon as the swells decrease or are relaxed and the public is assured that every effort is being made to ensure that petroleum products will arrive on island during the course of the coming week. “

The chief executive officer of the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority (DAPSA) has also reported challenges with the offloading of goods due to high sea swells over the past two weeks.

what nonsense he saying .. We have a problem with the fuel for car not LPG .. Why are you comparing two different commondities .. why is dominica alone suffering every month from this .. in the last 2 months this has happened 3 times . so all 3 times the boat couldnt dock ? Something is not right and MOT isnt straight with us . Since rubis gone this is happening . I thought government said they can supply what rubis not supplying .. Rubbish .. We must hold the people in charge accountable for things . If you know petrol cannot supply gasoline in a timely manner ,Then change it .

After all we need to put ourselves in Matthan’s foot and understand what’s going on.
First the man is the son of Matthew Walter and put there by Skerrit to do exactly what he is doing now…lie to defend Skerrit.
Second. Skerrit has a special liking or interest in the Walter family of paix Bouche. He takes very good care of that family and I wouldn’t be surprised if Skerrit didn’t paint his surname there
Thirdly. Maybe Matthan might want to tell us about the ownership and source of income ofthose mansions built in the hight of Moore Park, where no one from paix Bouche was allowed to work there or visit. I wonder if Skerrit is part of the ownership or if a Skerrit will be a future owner? I bet Matthan would know more about this than the gas crisis on island he lying to us about

I’m happy, though. I had been raising my pig to get fat so we could eat it for Christmas. This tradition has been in my family for as long as I could remember. It’s fat! Very fat and round. Been feeding it on the choicest of food from the SUPERMARKET. Not manger koshor.

Have some pity on the man, he is only voicing his master, you remember that famous sign of the little dog sitting by the gramophone HMV that is him. He should be smarter than that and not take all Dominicans for fools. I don’t know what Skerrit is up to but maybe he wants to create a state fuel monopoly. Whatever it is, it’s no good except for passing off the tourists, especially from his Kempinski hotel that have plenty of choice to go other destinations.

    Sea swells my behind!
The shortage of gas on the island have nothing to do with sea swells. Liar, mahteer! You all have brought the island to its knees and that shameful especially infront Christmas. People run-short and going for gas in containers and cant buy because you all say they hoarding. The question is why in this day and age are we running out of gas because of a little weather disturbance if you are correct? This a total failure and lack of foresight. And the sad thing is the ministry of trade have the gull to come and lie.

Man that country is headed to hell in a hand basket and those at the top needs to GO regardless of the reason! PERIOD! Three day of traffic from Canefield to the port area because of gas shortage in total BS. No lies and spin can cover that level of incompetence. So Mr. Walter…BAH-BYE! Go hide yourself and learn to strategize.

Just one look at that face and I understand the crookedness and lies. The face says it all. Rubis must be having a laugh right now. It’s clear what is going on here. Yet we the people of Dominica will continue to be fooled face the consequences of an insensitive and incompetent Government. We will line up for hours just to get a $50 dollars quota of gas and have nothing to say about it but to be ready to do it again tomorrow.

The lies are bad but the foolishness of we as a people is worst and so we deserve exactly what we get.

Matthew stop being a liar for once in your miserable Life!

Tell us where; on which island, or country in the world supplying Dominica with the following according to your lie!
” Trade and Energy has been reliably informed by the major importers of petroleum products gasoline, diesel, and kerosene that sea swells have prevented the loading of products onto their vessels for export to Dominica
Anybody with commonsense, and familiar with the loading of such commodities unto ships, knows you are a liar!
So, I need you to allow these people in Dominica who are importers of such products from Valenzuela, Trinidad, Guyana, or even Barbados where there is a small amount of oil, which of the islands waves are so high that loading of Petroleum Tankers are unable to be loaded.
Are you foolish people not tired of embarrassing yourselves?
You are a village boy who don’t no, but some of us knows how to get the meteorological forecast for the past twenty years in the Caribbean!
    Shut Up!

Sea swells, that is a good one! How about paying the bills for petroleum products before they’re due by date? Walter, you are just a liar as Skerrit is, the only difference he is a better one. You are just an arrogant little pig farmer.

Lamel excuse Mathan everybody can see through that. It did not prevent the cruise ship from coming in today, did it. Either shortage of ready cash in the
    treasury or just bad planning.
