Accident in Antigua leaves one Dominican dead and another critically injured

Bram Sanderson and Daniel ‘Gyaz’ Jno Baptiste

Two Dominicans were involved in a deadly accident in Antigua and Barbuda early this morning. Dominican cyclist Bram Sanderson has died, while the other remains critical at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center.

The accident occurred on the Sydney Walling Highway and American Road at around 3 a.m.

Reports from St Johns are that Sanderson, 30, was pronounced dead en route to the hospital.

Both men were traveling on a motorcycle, reportedly from west to east, while a pick-up truck was traveling from north to south as they approached the intersection.

It is not clear which of the vehicles disobeyed the traffic signal, but the crash left the motorcyclist and his pillion passenger with serious injuries.

The Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene within four minutes of receiving the call. Still, reports are that the impact left Sanderson with severe injuries, and he died despite efforts by the EMS team.

Jno Baptiste was sent hurtling over the fence at Harney Motors and onto the compound.

He is now a patient at the SLBMC, nursing multiple injuries. The pick-up driver was not seriously injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.

So sad, its a lesson to those of us alive.Ladies and gentlemen you have no idea when you are going to breathe your last breath. Why not say yes to the Savior now? Remember it was for you He died. You can be sure of heaven. Just remember, if you say no to Christ, be sure the door of hell is wide open.
