Smh Skerrit owes China too much,he has to ask the Chinese first, but money comes first, the citizens comes last. Will pray the coronavirus does not reach our shores.

That is true because he would rather let his people die than put them in a safer place. He know that if the coronavirus reaches dominica he would take his family and fly his out, while the people are dying one by one. This is what he wants to do.

Skerro would have never done that to the Chinese. Even if it meant that every single Dominican dies in the process.

That’s a good point about how international air travelers have to stop somewhere else before reaching Dominica. Indeed, Caricom should stand united to face this threat. But what about San Juan and the ferries from the French islands?

We in dca are 99% reactive and 1% proactive. Protect your people and let the economy take a little blow rather than protect the economy and let the people suffer for a generation. Look at America and Russia and even Antigua. They’re protecting their ppl. Let the economy suffer a bit. Health first. Cancel carnival for a year. Save dcan lives. Dcan lives matter.

NOT even if someone from China had to get of a flight here with a fever of 200 and carrying their blood soaked lungs in the hands would the authorities here close ANY border these people. They’d rather rename the illness, “Dominica/China Friendship Virus”

flights from China cannot come to Dominica, Dominica doesn’t have an international airport… so the people must stop somewhere where they will most likely get quarantined

Thank you very much. People comment just because they have the ability so to do but, give little thought to what they produce. These are the same people who were bashing Dr. Mac for not bringing their children home. Now Antigua spoke on the matter, they are flip flopping to criticize their own country. Can’t you please some people.

Dominica has two international airports, one at Melville Hall and one at Canefield. They both have customs- and pass port control. Passengers arrive from and depart to foreign jurisdictions. This makes them international airports, small as they may be.

Well, a mind is a terrible thing to waste. When did Dominica build the two international airports? Where were the rest of us??

Dominican, i can only shake my head at the nonsense you just typed. Go online or pick up an encyclopedia and read what makes an airport an international. First of all, both these airports close their doors at a certain time every day. International airports never close. the rest ill let you find out for yourself.

So all you trusting Brown, Skerrit and China then? I sure don’t. I believe it’s nothing more than a show. These CARICOM leaders just cannot close their doors on China even if it’s for better or for worse. As for Dominica, we have a Freeport that allows Chinese to come down when they want because most of them hold a Dominica CBI passport. Boy I like the blogger that says it’s more likely for Skerrit and China to rename the virus in Dominica to ” Dominica/ China friendship virus”. Wow you are a genius

De joke is this is a unilateral action taken by a member of CARICOM.

But what is CARICOM policy on this global health pandemic?

    CARICOM is divided for sure!!!!

I looking to see if another CARICOM nation will stand and protect their nation….. where is Barbados on this one.

The way I see it…. Antigua is a major hub into the Caribbean…. so is Barbados..
Will monkey do what monkey see?

How about Dominica? I would say we have less capability with threat like that. Should we not act as one, at least the OECS?
