Dominican and CARDI worker stationed in St Vincent, Gregory Linton, died when he was shot once in the head, an autopsy on the island has revealed.
According to iWitness News in St Vincent, his licensed firearm has been reported missing.
The news outlet reported that Linton, who has diplomatic status, was found dead in a diplomatic vehicle in Kingstown around 11 p.m. on June 18.
His body had started to decompose when it was discovered in a blue Toyota Hilux vehicle. Sources told iWitness News that Linton was scheduled to leave St. Vincent on the Friday before he was found dead.
A man, who informed police of the discovery of the body, was detained but was subsequently released.
Another news organization, The St Vincent Times, has reported that Linton may have been shot by his own gun.
Linton was an Agricultural Engineer, employed with the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI) as its Representative in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
CARDI has since said that the news of Linton’s death was unbelievably shocking and deeply sad.
In a statement, the organization said that Linton was its representative in St Vincent and the Grenadines since 2017.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Blue and Green Economy here in Dominica has also expressed sadness at the killing of Linton.
“His former colleagues at the Ministry of Agriculture are deeply saddened by his passing and remember Greg for his humility, professionalism, and dedication to the field of agricultural research and development. May he rest in eternal peace,” the ministry said in a statement.
Bookie how the hell you expect to know the answer to your question untill the matter if FULLY investigated?Stop behaving like MEME.MEME writes smart,he sounds smart he is probably smart. On investigation he a 100% confused, fictitious and frustrated liar.
Feller was maybe involved in something illegal.
Not necessarily. Why assume that without further information?? Where you there??? Until further investigation is carried out then all probable scenarios can be considered.
What is the rest of the story. Was it a robbery gone wrong or something else? It is very rear (although possible) people get killed randomly. RIP sir
The sooner you come to the understanding that he was murdered, by people in St. Vincent who do not want foreigners working in St. Vincent, it’s the sooner your mind will rest in peace!
He was not randomly murdered, he was targeted because of his job.
Sad news indeed to hear of the demise of the gentleman. I won’t say more, than to wish his soul R.I.P!!
