‘Big Brother’ Dominican contestant first to be evicted

Last night on Big Brother USA, Dominican Kirsten Elwin was eliminated from the show, making her the first houseguest to be evicted this season.

The vote against Elwin was unanimous, with all 13 eligible houseguests choosing to send her home.

Elwin, a 25-year-old molecular biologist, and swimwear designer from Dominica, had been targeted by her fellow competitors for “playing the game too hard” after being in the Big Brother House for just a few hours.

She had hoped to build a female alliance to make it to the final night on November 9, 2023, but last week’s Head of Household, Reilly Smedley, kept her and Felicia Cannon on the chopping block.

Elwin fought hard to stay in the house, making friends with her castmates and trying to secure their votes, but ultimately, they voted to evict her.

While there was some hope that she might stay in the house after cast member Luke Valentine was expelled for using the N-word in a conversation with a group of houseguests, the eviction proceeded as planned.

In her exit interview with host Julie Chen Moonves, Elwin expressed surprise at her eviction, saying she had good relationships with many of her fellow houseguests and checked in with them multiple times before making any decisions.

She felt particularly betrayed by castmate Cirie Fields, who had revealed Elwin’s female alliance plan to Smedley.
